Random Physical Traits (Mutations)
Some Players can gain physical traits. Roll a D6 to randomly select the mutations to choose from. If no mutation is welcome to the player, his coach may choose to pick a normal skill or trait instead.
Physical Trait Roll (Availiable to Chaos, Skaven, Minotaur and Rat Ogre Players)
1 Choose Big Hand or Claw
2 Choose Extra Arms or Foul Appearance
3 Choose Horns or Prehensile Tail
4 Choose Razor Sharp Claws or Spikes
5 Choose Tentacles or Thick Skull
6 Choose Two Heads or Very Long Legs
Edit:
I feel like it would be more fair to allow the choice between two mutations.
This sets the chance to gain the exact physical trait you want to 1/36.

Sorry but that's a crap idea.
I know it may seem like a nice idea to give players mutations randomly (from the gods and all that) but why should Chaos and Skaven players suddently be told what mutations they are going to be given?
Totally screws up player development when your hard hitting chaos warrior suddenly develops two heads. Or you faster than lightning Gutter runner who'd love long legs gets extra arms. Sure you can take a 'normal' skill but you've just blown a double!
Can you see where I'm going with this?

What? I'm sorry but I don't understand. Why would it be a "good thing" to limit one turn scorers?
If a player is fortunate enought to develop a one turn scorer or a casualty scoring machine then I say good luck to them. It's then up to the opposing coaches in his league to develop their players to deal with this. Or take the player out all together. And don't forget the friendly banter that players like this create. We currently have a DP in our league who has racked up 11 casualties. So far everyone is taking every advantage they have to kick the crap out of him, and it's good fun!
A Woodelf team can still get one turn scorers, why should the Skaven be peanlised and not them? Ok Skaven can develop 1 turners slightly easier than Wood Elf's but that's what the mutations are for.
IMO it would be a really bad idea to implement this. You'd probrably end up getting lynched by the Chaos and Skaven players in your league.

I think the one-turn wonders are a part of the game. And as it is now there is a 1/6 odds of getting very long legs, and 3/36 of getting added movement. You will need at least two skills for 1TTD, but if you get VLL early on a GR, then the next skill is Sprint of course. With a third skill like block on him, he will be even better.
1TTD wonders are possible to TTM teams to, so its nothing new and have been in the game since 3:rd edition. They are irritating for the opponent of course, and on defense a 1TTD player would be kept on the reserve, so they couldn't bash them. Just hope for that blitz kickoff result, or for the reserve players to be depleted forcing him to put the guy on field at a defense play. I don't think we need random mutations though.
Once a long time ago I had a 1TTD Gutter Runner, and I scored my best result ever in a game agains a chaos team. I was very lucky and won 8-1 (most goals by the 1TTD GR of course), much due to the fact that I also had an incredible luck with my block rolls, and he did not. Else he would have hurt me bad, as more normal in Skaven vs Chaos games.

Ok I'm intrigued, what's your reason for this statement? As to one turn scorers: They Ruin Gameplay.
Are you saying that we should get rid of VLL, +MA and Throw Team Mate then to not spoil gameplay? That people shouldn't have the option to score in 1 turn? Even though they've spent countless games developing and nurturing these players?
I'm not trying to start a

Wood Elf Catcher, 3 Star Player Rolls:
10 2 4 7 Catch, Dodge, Sprint, Leap
This Player can not be defended. All you can do is hope for the opposing coach to run out of the team rerolls he might need for the leap, and or the scorer to fall over on a go for it.
Once the Guy reaches Level 4 and sure feet, the game of playing Blood Bowl is obsolete.

But I think thats part of the game.
A superb player, created by rolling very good on the skill rolls is a real star player. The other teams will do everything they can to stop him, but if he is that good, they will have problems with that.
Look at Fotball WC that was this summer. Not one team could stop the superstar, Ronaldo, even though they tried.

We are talking about a strategy board game with chance elements where the coach with the best tactics should be able to win the game.
Watching a one turn scorer roll his required die rolls is like watching snooker where there is no oportunity to actively participate in the game during the opponents turn.
Blood Bowl's theme is fantasy american football, not fantasy snooker
Although OTT's should be POSSIBLE especially in the dieing seconds of the Match, they MUST be very very rare and hard to accomplish.

Random Mutations: I think this would be a great idea if you could find an easy way to model them. Mutations are by nature random...
One Turn Scorers: These are an unforseen by-product of skill stacking. They are certainly not a designed team balance mechanic. In my opinion, you should either eliminate them entirely or give every team the chance to produce one.

Simple solution, ban one turn TD scorers and make the kicking rules official, this way everybody can score in 1 turn but I feel AG sides still have an advantage on these stakes,( A move 9 catcher with Kick for instance

I completely agree with Neo,
but like to point out the practical side of modelling: not everybody buys every team and every miniature. If my lineman gains a mutation i will certainly NOT buy a new model because its written in the rulebook of the miniature selling company. I might buy one if i have fun with the player but such minor issues should really not confuse the RULEBOOK.
On one turn scoring, it would be interesting to link that to the turn number, so that, for exitements sake, it would be possible to score the game winning or game tieing goal just moments before the final whistle.
(still being an highly unlikely event)
