I like my Goblin team name: Gobslam United

Other than that, im working on a human team with a "soviet" look, the Proletarian Punishers, or "the proles". The only hard thing is making all those hammers and sickles.

"This is 29 Acacia Road, and this is Eric, the schoolboy who leads an exciting double life. For when Eric eats a banana..."

Classic TV was that. And with the best voiceover intro barring none but the A-Team.

Strange Names, But True...

Post by DesTroy »

Just a few selections from the long history of Blood Bowl in Lethbridge (since 1988!):

Galadhorn Caverncrawlers (1st Ed dwarven/elven combo, won 5 of the first 7 championships here)

Them (chaos)

Hamlin Tiger-Rats (skaven, reference is to the Canadian Football League)

Stonehaven Rubbleriders (dwarves, another CFL reference)

Deadmonton Deathkimos (undead, yet another CFL parody; their arch-rivals would be the Khal-Gar Stampeders of the TBBF if I lived that close to Toronto)

Bloody Seagulls (dwarves, as in reacting to the feel of something landing on one's head...)

Dark Abbey Choirboys (chaos)

Fuchsia Fascists (cross-dressing chaos thugs whose star player was a minotaur named Tammy Faye...)

Verminkin Vanguard AKA The Rat Bastards (skaven, current leaders in the Howling Fury Football League)

San Frantico 4-foot-9ers (halflings)

Hammerskjold Nordhammers (norse, famous for their mis-spelled end zone markings [Nordhamsters!])

Da Pinko Komandoz (one of my many orc teams, they wear pink armour with red trim)

Orcvale Red Army (3-time champions of the Reij-Indomina Football League [RIFL, pronounced "rifle", the league preceding the Howling Fury League of today])

Those of you who remember the Canadian National Hockey League teams who awarded the Molson Cup to the players who got the most points from post-game Three Stars selections during the season will be glad to note that the tradition continues here...the RIFL MVP at season's end, and that of the HFFL, receives The Moleskin Cup (from Moleskin Breweries, brewers of Moleskin Canuckian and a favourite local brand, Leftbirch Illsner).

So there! :D
