And your league was filled with Halflings, Goblins and Skaven? No basic S access and a team that's almost entirely AV7 = no chance of winning a bash title because you simply won't have enough blocks.katadder wrote: as for the elves comments. my pro-elves do very well against any team thanks, in fact in their last league they were the most violent team for causing injuries (its just about bashing at the right time) and had the player with the most casualties in the league.

As an AV7 player (often with stunties) MB is a MUCH bigger issue.Heff wrote:mbpoclaw takes 32spps (16 for a big guy) 51 if you want the security of block first. It is only a problem in purpetual leagues, and only then if you don't have two people playing that way who can occasionally destroy each others team. I do not see it as a huge issue as somebody has a team with 8 of these players I won't play them. simplesDinoTitanedition wrote:Nerfing Chaos Dwarves? Maybe not. MB PO Claw? Definitly.

It`s just my personal opinion, but from my point of view the hobby ends, as soon as the competition begins. When you start to do things a lot more serious in order to achieve a set goal which is compared to the capabilities of others, it looses the lightness of "just being a hobby". But then again, that`s how I see it and there is no offense meant with it. If some see the competition as their hobby, I´m the last one to spoil it.the competion aspect is part of the fun

But going to tourneys is probably not a good idea for you then ... unless you go and play Goblins/Halflings and watch all the Uber-Competetive players get paranoid because, if you do manage to win, their NAF rating will drop a bazillion points!

nope not at all. chaos, humans, orcs. block plenty and in the right way. with dodging easy its easy to move away from fights you dont want and support the blocks you do for 2 dice blocks. in fact all elves will probably get more 2 dice blocks than a starting dwarf or norse team (2 teams named for bash) due to the ease of freeing up players to support where the elves want it.Fassbinder75 wrote:And your league was filled with Halflings, Goblins and Skaven? Re: Worst team in blood bowl?
There are lots of different ways to enjoy Bloodbowl, that's what makes it so great. A lot of people do enjoy the mental challenge of the game and try their best to win. But they can still have fun even if they lose, seeing it as a learning experience to get better.DinoTitanedition wrote:It`s just my personal opinion, but from my point of view the hobby ends, as soon as the competition begins. In pretty much any game if your opponent doesn't care at all about the result that can suck the fun out of the game just as much as facing someone who is ultra competitive.

Re: Worst team in blood bowl?
I'm sorry but the maths just doesn't bear that out beyond a sample size of 1. When you free up a player, that's one less block you're throwing.katadder wrote:Fassbinder75 wrote:katadder wrote: nope not at all. chaos, humans, orcs. block plenty and in the right way. with dodging easy its easy to move away from fights you dont want and support the blocks you do for 2 dice blocks. in fact all elves will probably get more 2 dice blocks than a starting dwarf or norse team (2 teams named for bash) due to the ease of freeing up players to support where the elves want it.
Assuming you have a Mighty Blow, Tackle player (probably a blitzer) and you blitz or block with him all 16 turns, getting two dice each time, you will probably knock your opponent down roughly 12 of those times, breaking his armour (lets assume he's AV9 since you're playing in a tough guy league) a whole 3 times, assuming you use the MB to account for his AV. From there you have a 1 in 6 chance of scoring a CAS, so you're likely to get one once every other game. But those are BIG ifs.
If you're winning bash titles with pro elves you're either the luckiest blood bowler alive, or your opponents are terrible AND unlucky.

Re: Worst team in blood bowl?
but thing is they are not blocking as much against me. AV7 only matters if you get hit enough. I can easily put out multiple 2 dice blocks a turn compared to their one 2 dice blitz.Fassbinder75 wrote:

bash team players tend to put people next to you ready for next turn, then as elves you choose which ones stay there and which ones block. when bash teams hit you they almost always follow up as well thinking you wont punch them back.
it works. I have always played bashy elves in every league, whether its dark, pro or wood (dont play high)

Re: Worst team in blood bowl?
Katadder> Seems like your just a better player in the league. Being able to engineer more 2D blocks than opponent with elves reliable would require both block and dodge. Else either one or the other part would just fail too often.
For some comparisons between (dark) elves and some bashy c dwarves I got the following stats in a rather bash oriented local league:
Avg cas for/against in second season of the team:
Dark elves: 1.1-1.1
Chaos dwarves: 2.8-1.5
Yes blodge helps the elves to avoid too many hits and casualties, both by saving them when they get hit and by easier repositioning, but the mb/po/claw/guard just racks in so many more casualties than what the elves could ever hope to do.

I think that a dark horse for the worst team could be dark elves. Dark elves are tricky to skill up because they are so expensive.

Dark elves are incredibly easy to skill up because they're Elves, 2+ 2+ will give you a completion, and every Elf can score well. They have 6 players one skill away from Blodge, dodge away from danger on a 2+, and mostly armour 8, which is high for Elves, so they live relatively long. Yes, they're expensive, but that's because they're worth it!

What I meant and sorry for not being clear enough, what I meant was it can really inflate team value. You have to pick the right skills and if you don't you will have a high tv team with terrible skills.

That goes for any team.
