Galak - fun is okay with Bloodbowl it belongs there (up to a certain degree of course). I can't bring it to a point, but although the ne COFAB might be balanced, I can't say It bought me till now ...

Cervidal wrote:I don't understand the thought of the newer OFAB being considered slapstick. In quite a bit of vampire fiction there are instances of vampires having lackies around to use as quick snacks all the time. Why else would a vampire have a human around?
I've had some comments asking me why I keep bringing up COFAB and basically dismissing other idea. I just want to say that its only because Cervidal's suggestion lets me play with the number of vampires I want, let's me have the Lord I want, and let's me have the ST 4/AG 4 Gen/ST/AG access for the Vampires that I want.

I promised that in the future I will not just say that COFAB is better. I'll approach new suggestions from the standpoint of
1) Will it balance the team
2) Are the players really vampires
3) Are there enough Vampires on the team for it to be called a Vampire team.

I never want to appear pighead and dismissive in a conversation so I apologize if I've come off that way.

I'll judge all other suggestions only on these 3 merits. I think Cervidal still had the best suggestion to date, but that doesn't mean there isn't a better one out there.

No matter WHAT becomes the Vampire team someone will hate it. Plasmoid, MikeX, and I's idea of a proper Vampire team are too different to every come to an agreement. So any plan has to shoot for balance and a general 60%+ acceptance. So far the only one I've seen to date that met the 3 criteria above and had 60% acceptance on TBB was COFAB.

If something betters really does come along that nails my 3 criteria above ... I'm all ears.

OK, I sat down and tried getting a team down that satisfied those three conditions, and two more:
4) Will play vanilla BB
5) Will be weaker than most teams

I don't know if I made it with the last one, the roster will obviously need playtesting. Anyway, here's a Vanilla Vampire suggestion:
  • 0-1 Vampire Lord 200K 6 5 4 9 Reg, Hyp Gaze, Vampire (G, A)
    0-6 Vampires 160K 6 4 3 9 Reg, Vampire (G, A)
    0-12 Thralls 50k 5 3 2 8 (G)

    Re-rolls 70.000
    No apothecary
    No big guys

    Vampire (Racial C.)
    1. Vampires never train, and cannot use re-rolls of any kind.
    2. They easily get bored with the game - if they ever get a serious injury and fail their regeneration roll, they will retire.
    3. Vampires are accustomed to treating their thralls as inferiors, and will never hand-off or pass the ball to a player without the vampire racial characteristic.
    4. If the weather ever becomes very sunny during a game, all vampire players will immediately leave the stadium and not return until the next match.
    5. Vampires have a tendency to scare their fans away by having a quick snack after the game. During step 3 in the post-Match Sequence, roll one die. If the die roll is less or equal than the number of vampire players who was ever on pitch during the game, subtract one from your Fan Factor.

Don't you think this would only make the vampire team follow the tactic that the thralls hold the sides and vamps do it in the middle? I really can't see how that is negative enough.

Try it Mestari, just for one game.

Effectively the pitch is reduced in size for the Vampires if the follow this style. And do not only think of the defence, on offence, the sweeps out to the wide fields would bear a risk as well.

Our Vampire Team looks like this:

0-4 Vampire Blitzer 6 4 4 8 Hypnotic Gaze, Regenerate
0-4 Vampire Catcher 7 3 4 7 Hypnotic Gaze, Regenerate
0-12 Vampire Lineman 6 3 3 8 Regenerate
(effectivly new created Vampires)
Re-Rolls: 90.000

Note: Just the Blitzer and the Catcher have the neg. trait
