MixX, one little suggestion. Can you put the site address in your signature, as I'm to lazy to keep heading back to the original post ;)

Yep, that as well as playng some BB.. I find that my enthusiasm drops if I don't play the game once in a while.. But it seems my luck is down, in my last two games I have rolled no less than 14 double 1's (playing W Elves, so only 1's failed), add to that the number of actions not covered by team or skill re-rolls, and you'll see how much succeeded.. nothing!! I'm just incredibly happy none of my players got beaten up!

Darkson: You can just click the "WWW" button below my posts :)

There IS a new update under development, but as the program gets more complicated, it also takes longer to update.. I also try to make sure that there's no bugs in my apps.. I think it is working pretty good, they usually do what they're supposed to. That does slow down the design process though, especially now that there's ever more things that can go wrong.. Recently I have run into a problem with the player numbers/symbols switch, but I WILL overcome it... I WILL I WILL I WILL! (*sigh*, why can't you argue the call when the program calls "Illegal Procedure" :) )

Oh, one final thing: My internet connection is very erratic at best, so if I'm not answering things I'm probably kicked off...

Well, will WILL work, or something.. wow, I've managed to sneak in quite a few W's haven't I? Hehe... :puke:

Anyway, UPDATE 2.4!!

Code: Select all

Version 2.4
Wohoo! Another step towards the goal.. You can now change the numbers on the players to letters as you wish, I even managed to squeeze in enough space for 2 characters per player - eg WD for Wardancer, or WE for Witch Elf.. should help with the "B=Blocker or B=Blitzer" problem..

Jo tak :) Har fulgt det i lang tid uden at være medlem.. (sorry people..)

Well, ok, apart from the "export a setup" function, which is a monumental piece of work I can tell you (more than all the rest IMO) does anyone have any suggestions on improvements to the tool as it is now??? I think I've covered most of what's been suggested so far, and once I start that export-thingy, additions will become very difficult indeed.. So, bring 'em on!!

About this export the setup thing... if Flash supports any sort of mark-up language parsing, I recommend making the export string XML. If you know any XML, it's definitely the way to go with applications like these.

I am working on the export thingy at the moment... I have to test it to see if it will work with this board at all... The below link only holds the designations for the players, so if you want you can click it, but it doesn't really do much yet.. Actually, just ignore this post please!

Hey MixX this things great, i've already come up with a couple more plays to try out.

If you can get the export working then it will really help with discussions about tactics.

I really liked the first version where you could only see one half of the pitch though, is there any way you could add an option to have it display only half the pitch in larger size as this was easier to see when printed out?

Great tool. Thanks.

The short answer is "no", but it is a qualified "no" because there are odd ways of interpreting the question which could justify the answer "yes".

MixX, is there a way of displaying the ST of each player? Maybe like the PBeM tool does of having say dark blue for ST5, graduating to light blue for ST2, that sort of thing.

There might be, and I might add it later, but for the moment, all such things should be written in the text area next to each player.

I'll re-release the first version on the webpage then! (with a few improvements such as the Tackle Zone removal etc).

Flash can handle XML. Actually MixX you should really look into doing this with XML, you won't need to export images that way. If you need help let me now, I did Flash/XML work almost exclusively for the last couple of years.
