Hi WesleyTJ
>I guess but then you've lost 4 players for MAYBE 4 or 5 cas max. The orcs would be better off just pounding you the
>old fashioned way. Maybe if all those DPs had block...
I have a hard time imagining a 1-skill-lineman doing much better than trading off for your opponents big guy, star player or good position player. Possibly giving them a permanent injury makes it even more tempting.
I do aknowledge that DP is a lot less powerful than it used to be.
I also agree that fouling should still be part of the game.
I just think that right now DP still makes things a bit too easy.
If your 4 lineman have DP, and his 4 linemen have block, then sooner or later it'll be your position players against his block linemen.
But I'm not out to kill DP alltogether.
I'm connected with 2 leagues - with 2 different solution:
1) DPs have a bad reputation. Add +1 to any IGMEOY roll against a DP.
2) DP gives +2/+1 rather than +2/+2
Both of these work fine. And in both leagues, dirty players are still powerful

Hi WesleyTJ, Milo and evryone else,
[I/Skummy suggested halving the ST bonus from piling on]
>But then the ONLY people who would ever take piling on would be big guys. Nobody else would waste a ST skill for >+1 or 2. That's not really what you're going for is it?
I hontestly think that you're wrong.
I considered the old piling on to be a more than decent skill on ST3 players.
The new version (against an AV8 victim) actually gets the attacker in a better situation 55% of the time! (because on a low roll he won't go prone for nothing, and on a high roll he can cause the cas without piling).
With this in mind, I think that the "new" piling on could be less effective and still be a good skill.
I play a dwarf team this season, with the old piling on.
I'd be more than happy to switch for the new piling on with "only" a +2 bonus, since that would leave me less prone to complete L-O-S malfunction
As for the ST2/ST1 guys who would only get +1:
OK, piling on may not be for them. Then again - they can not take mighty blow, so it _is_ their best option.
Finally - some (not you) - say that this would make claw a better skill.
And thats true.
Unless you're a big guy.
Also, since very few players get 2 doubles rolls, a smart coach might as well take fang on his doubles roll and then combine it with piling on, instead of using the doubles roll for claw.

Dump the Piling on and take a Washing Machine instead. From the top of a set of steel step ladders (or trussed up Goblin turnbuckle) the Flying Washing Machine Clothes Line of Death (TM) will ensure that NO-ONE is walking away.
HAVE SOME BLEEDING FUN FOR A CHANGE AND STOP WHINGING!!!!
