Discuss Fantasy football-style board games - GW's Blood Bowl, Impact!'s Elfball, Privateer Press' Grind, Heresy's Deathball, etc. THIS IS NOT AN NFL FANTASY FOOTBALL SITE!

Hey, my Vamps make enough mistakes as it is, thank you very much

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.
I dislike 0-1 positions in general and the lord is no exception. However, having more than 2 positions is always good, so perhaps tone him down a bit and make it 0-2 greater vampires.

What if.... we took the current Undead Team Roster, removed Skeletons and Mummies, and put 0-2 Vampire 6 4 4 8 Hypnotic Gaze, Regenerate on the roster instead? Would that be a viable and balanced Vampire team?

Blah!
Galak
Sorry that doesn't help the conversation at all. I know I already listed what I consider a Vampire team ... but I just wanted to say that this is REALLY not a Vampire team in my opinion ... if this team was real then it and the Necromantic team would be so similar as for one to be completely worthless ... I really don't want the Vampire team to be another iteration of the Necro team .... Please!
I will also chime in here as well. 2 vampire lords is like having 2 presidents/prime ministers, doesnt make any sense. Tho u could add an animosity type trait that works like the "im the greatest" special play card. Actually that mite not be a bad idea in general, tho i like cofab better.

Vault = putting in a 4 barrel Holley because the spark plugs need gapping.
The point of removing the Lord is that I really can't see a fluff reason for there being one. If there's a lord, he'd probably be the coach/manager. Or whatever. But having two greater vampires instead of one lord would be much better in my opinion. 0-1 positions = not good.

Same as my saying Mestari. With the stats the Lord has right now, he clearly belongs to the star players.
Of course you could alternatively put them into the coaching positions.
Why not just give the Vampires different positions, Blitzer, Catcher and Thralls ...
The reason why I do not like COFAB is that it feels a bit like slapstick, when the Vampires have to suck their own players on the pitch, why won't they just suck on fans or opposing players ?
I would be happy to have them suck the fans, but they must then go in reserves and take an injury roll, they cant hypno gaze a crowd. As for the Lord being a coach, sure , but he has to play because he doesnt trust his lieutenants to do things rite.

Now that would be harsh. And Relborn ... I guess I don't see COFAB as slapstik. At least no more than a Pogo Stick secret weapon, the old Custard Pie Dirty Trick, or for that matter the original OFAB. Its a game mechanic fitting into the fluff that "so far" seems to be working (that's more than I can ask from from a LOT of BB rules). If the one of the 3 Vampires teams starts taking over the MBBL, I'll be the very first in line to say it doesn't work.
a few weeks ago I made a suggestion for a change, where a vampire player has to make a roll when being in the widezones, to avert running into the crowd to suck some barenecked ladies ...
Well, honestly I am still tinkering in my mind with this for our housrule ...
I don't understand the thought of the newer OFAB being considered slapstick. In quite a bit of vampire fiction there are instances of vampires having lackies around to use as quick snacks all the time. Why else would a vampire have a human around?
