THIS SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

JJ is cracked and I don't give a rat's ass who that offends!!!!!
I'm disappointed, I admit, but I've only heard this secondhand from the group and not from Jervis himself. I have heard from him that Ogres were a hot topic at the Blood Bowl, and I intend to use that as an opportunity to propose the new roster via the BBRC. Perhaps if it gains enough support there, it could still become official.

Lets hope so.

So far all the experimental teams have proved to be somewhat broken (to a degree at least) from reading the threads on them here. Is there any chance that fanatic could be convinced to tone them down slighly so that we could work up to a playable team rather than down from a broken one?

the new teams really make me wonder how exactly this same brain trust ever managed to get the original rosters into something vaguely resembling balance...

I said the same thing via a private email and I don't think the comment was appreciated. But I agree Phil, the recent rosters do make me wonder what happened between then and now.

And Milo ... you go ... I unfortunately hit a stumbling block proving the BB Mag Ogre team is broken as my Human opponent got a lucky hit and foul on one of my 3 starting Ogres and SI-MNG'd him on turn 1 of our game. I think I'm going to boycott playing Pete ... his Block dice and Av/Inj rolls are just brutal when I play him.

Here's a thought about convincing JJ. (or at least a comeback to what I'm gueesing will be one of his arguments.)

Morg N'Thorg is available for purchase as a generic ogre. Morg's car lists him as an "ogre blocker." Ta-da!

If Frank N. Stein can be a generic golem and Wilhelm Chaney can be a generic werewolf then I think the Morg models can fill in the ogre blocker position.

That's a reasonable thought, but I agree with Galak that the new minis could work just fine with them. There are three basic body poses:

1) Facing forward, somewhat squatting, both feet parallel
2) A three-point stance, with left foot back and left fist on ground
3) the Throwing stance

Since only the Ogre Blitzers have Throw Teammate, that makes all the ones in throwing position Blitzers by definition. It would be simple enough to use the three point stance, which looks like the more mobile of the two, for blitzers. If you really wanted to define them better, you could put shoulder spikes on the Blitzers but not on the Blockers, or vice versa. Helmets are another good way to distinguish them, but I think that would be confusing if you didn't also do one of the other two.

I also don't thinlk there is alot wrong with the teams as they are in the LRB. why do they need all these other teams? do they need to continually sell more mini's or something? clearly there is enough interest in the current teams or bloodbowl wouldn't have survived this long!

True but look at Galak's site. There also is interest for loads of other, some related some not, teams.

Many teams mentioned in the stories can count on fans everywhere (me included)

Also, if GW (A model making coorporation after all) doesnt' sell any BB figs, they won't support it with Tournaments and the like.

new mini's keeps the game interesting for both us and the sellers.

(This doesn't mean it's okay to give us broken - looking teams)

It's the "rule for every mini" that really bothers me.

It's a pointless limitation that they put on themselves. What is wrong with making a big weird footballing monster? You know how many cool minis they could get if they just made an open call to sculpters to make any kind of humanoid football playing thing?

Or why make new rules for minis of old teams? So far they are 0 for 2. I bet they'd sell more Rotters minis if people didn't feel they had to be "Nurgle's Rotters". I bet a bunch of undead coaches would by them...that is if the Undead hadn't been evaporated, needlessly.

I agree although perhaps for different reasons, it should be
a mini for every rule

Don't see any reason why we can't just have new mini's for the existing teams, especially as the 3ed minis suck.

I would love to see a new human team but I don't want to have to use new experimental bretonnian/kislev/flavour of the month experimental humans mark II to be able to use them.
