Honest question, how much of a person's group postings show on their wall?
I genuinely ask, as a couple of the gaming groups I'm in, though by no means as big (or active I'd guess) as the BBC, are open, and as far as I can see* the posts I make there rarely show on my wall.

* We have a club account that was used to link our club's Facebook and Twitter accounts, though that seems to have stopped working.

I could be wrong but my understanding is that if you post to a group then the post is appearing on the group's wall rather than your own *but* people who follow you will see the post in their feed (I guess the assumption is that that as friends and family they may have an interest in what you are posting).

Yeah, but that doesn't seem to happening very often in my case, at least for what the club account sees (and no, both accounts aren't in the same groups).

Typical, the first post on there since it’s gone private is leaked photos of Games Workshop’s Slann team!

Loving the Kroxigor, though its ears are a weird shape.

There are all sorts of weird background algorithms on what you see and where in your feed. My guess is it depends in part on how often you 'like' the other other person's posts or comment on them. So my aunt who likes all the pics of my kids sees more of my posts in BB community then my gamer buddy who ignores everything I do except posts in our local community gaming group which he reads but doesn't interact with otherwise.

I have far more incidental interactions with my posts in gaming specific groups by non gaming family then I do by gamer friends.

Good thinking.
It would also be interesting to see, how "posts made by members" develops.

I would like to argue against it.
The mods decided on their own, left a post up for a few hours while a lot of the members were asleep, and decided that was enough for a consensus.

Several people were vocally against changing the group to private and asked the mods to at least put a poll or something to see how the community actually felt about the matter, but the mods didn't seem to care what people wanted. They refused to put up a poll and refused to answer any questions about it.

Mods did answer questions.

Several people were vocally against it. Others vocally for.
Polls are often a bad idea.

What time was the post up?

For info, the original post was simply saying "this has been done". An admin error then reversed it, which is why the post was taken down. There was then a few weeks delay before it could be enacted.

Most users slept for a few weeks? !)
