And who’s fault is it we ended up with said CPOMB mess? And now you fear making a killer team using the rules you are responsible for?
1. You know that's not how it happened. CPOMB was designed, got into playtest and nobody complained. So it made LRB6/CRP.
Yes, somebody - a good coach - complained about the theory of it, just like a 100 good coaches complained about a 100 different things. In the end the only sensible thing was to listen to the playtesters.
2. Seriously, in what twisted reality would it have been the good and popular move to ignore the complaints about CPOMB and say - let's just rock BB with a CPOMB chaos team? I mean, fluff dictates S and M access. And khorne is most killy - so is CPOMB.
3. Finally, you full well know that Galak approves of the changes to Claw and PiOn in NTBB for playtesting - meaning he thinks they could turn out to work better than what we have in CRP. But he has to work with the actual official rules.
Cheers
Martin

Whoa, whoa, whoa. #3 - Galak has never said that - he has said he agreed with them for those that want to house rule them.

Darkson, what did I overstate?
Just tell me how to phrase it to your liking.
Better yet, Galak, who is reading this thread anyway, is welcome to tell me how to better phrase this.
Are you saying Galak thinks that CPOMB works absolutely perfectly and uncontroversially?

There are two separate issues here:
1) how you feel about the roster
2) who is responsible for the things you don't like in said roster
You're quite personally and directly attacking a fellow player here for something that you have no evidence they're responsible for. To the contrary, from this angle all evidence appears to point to cyanide (and very likely GW)'s direct involvement in this process, and given their form, do you propose that what they came up with was balanced and anything other than T0? Is it likely the three player coaches in question just quietly went about their task without scrapping their corner?
Now, some things on this roster piss me off too. But I'm prepared to give Galak, dode and [A N Other] the benefit of the doubt and hold off directly flaming them until it's beyond doubt that they made the design decisions in question, a day I'm pretty confident will never come.
So, lets play theory here for a second. You're Galak, and Cyanide (representing Granny?) approach you to review their crazy Khorne roster for a new release they have planned. The boards are buzzing with rumours of a new black box blood bowl due out later that year, that even the NAF president is (allegedly) quietly convinced is going ahead. The proposed roster is bad - like, Speyz Marine fan roster bad - comes with clear restrictions about names and god knows what else, and an NDA so you can't publicly defend your involvement. Yeah, you want to walk away. But then maybe you think... Black box... September release... Stupid overpowered roster....
Frankly, I'm not a big gambler, but if I compare the likelihood of the above scenario vs Tom just rolling over for GW to tickle his tummy, I know where I'm putting my money.

Firstly Dode has already confirmed a high risk high reward roster was talked about but they dumped the idea because they already thought that was covered in the game with Ogres and vampiers. This suggests to me they had more freedom than they are letting on. Why they didn't go down that route is a mystery as it is clearly what a Khorne roster should be. So this is terrible decision 1 from said team. They also seemingly had the option to make a killer roster but opted not to because they thought the game didn't need one. While I understand their feeling here, it is what a khorne roster demands.
Secondly if the restrictions were truely as bad as they say then they should have walked, without Galaks name attached the hate would be far more wide spread. Even if the roster ended up exactly the same. Also without his name attached it would have been roundly rejected by the community even more so than it is by certain memebers. This would have been more beneficial for the game than ending up with this roster.
This is just an unmitigated disaster of a roster. It should never have been created and they certainly shouldn't have wasted their time on it if this is the end result. They should have let it die.

1. It's what a Khorne roster should be to you. Not to me.
2. That route is already done.

If we'd walked away then there was the chance of a roster being made by someone who had NO idea at all about the game or the fluff becoming the new roster with a chance of either going into CRP or being accepted by the NAF. This is by far the lesser of two evils.
@Dode - very noble of you. I'm sure no-one in the NAF hierarchy could have spotted a broken roster. The NAF is not forced to follow the CRP.

As well you know, the NAF tournament rules require that all GW-approved teams are allowed in.
@darkson: I get that that was his stance 18 months ago.
I got the impression that the months of protracted complaining has swayed him to believe that while cpomb isn't broken, it could work better.
