Thanks, I'll need to credit Ithilkir, Trambi and all the others who posts contributed to a final team. I don't wanna take sole the team.

I'll take sole credit for the Brets, though!

2nd playtest update:

TR102 Orges vs. TR100 COFAB vamps

Half Time

Score 0-2 TD, CAS 1-1

The Orges are having a hard time remembering were they are, failing Bonehead after Bonehead, and with 1 Gobbo BH, and the other havinga big Bulleyes on his chest, it looks like they might have trouble holding onto the ball.

And as Pariah said somewhere else, Gaze against a primarily AG1 side is great :D

Result from 2nd playtest:

Orges 1 - 2 Vampires (Cas 2-2)

Well, it all came down to ball control (ooer :o ) in the end. Orges pulled one back with a throw team-mate play and the gobbo scampered in for the score after a failed blitz and by a thrall failing a GFI to put some TZ on him.

On the kick-off the vampires made a hole in the orge front line and a thrall charged through and BH the 2nd gobbo (his 2nd cas of the game) to seriously curtail the chances of the orges getting the ball. The vamps held up the front line and ran the clock out for a hard fought 2-1 victory.

The major difference in this game was Pariah's "average" injury rolls, which meant the vamp team had more players available to fight back, and their superior ball handling skill showed. Also, acombination of failed bonehead rolls and vamp's gazes hindered the orges attempts at defense (I think in 1 turn the were only 2 orges who had their TZ).

So, another enjoyable game vs. Pariah. I think the team shows merit and I look forward to seeing it in BB Mag sometime soon.

I've a game lined up vs. Thadrin at the end of our current match, but if someone would like a game now to help with the playtesting, give me a shout.

Currently I'm playing the Ogres vs. a goblin team in the pouring rain.
This is possibly the funnest game of Blood Bowl I have ever played, if not the funniest.
The ogres have spent most of the game smacking down whichever gobbo has the ball and holding back the trolls. The goblins have spent most of the game circling my ogres and picking at us. The score is tied 3 all and it's late in the 2nd half. This one is gonna be fun!

I stuck an Ogre roster together and tried going through a full game using SkiJunkie's tool. I got halfway through the first half before I realised Bonehead wasn't working.

You know what? the Ogres STILL sucked.

Admittedly the Human team I was pitting them against were having a bad time with the dice, but really - it was mayhem. The ogres - remember: all of them got a chance to throw blocks every turn - managed to pen the bulk of the human team into the middle of the pitch thanks to a blitz, and from there it was failed dodge city for the humans while the lone Ogre Blitzer slowly rumbled downfield after the ball, which had landed right in the corner of the field.

Worthless in real testing terms, but this team is certainly FAR from overpowered if thats how they perform when their negative trait is out of commission.

BTW: Just so I can check: we are saying the rerolls are expensive as all hell, but as its an ogre team they can use them (the one they could afford) right?

We were not allowing the ogres to use just for simplicity's sake but it's one of the things I'm not sure about. I haven't won a single game with them yet. Not even against goblins. I'm thinking maybe they should get the rerolls. The only problem is that I don't think bonehead should be re-rollable.

I'm happy to see my fears of a competitive ogre team were exaggerated :D

Wouldn't it be more consistent with current BB to not allow the RR:s and instead permit more "real", ST 5 ogres? Ogres probably never trains anyway...

And another idea: couldn't the ST 4 ogres be called "young ogres"? It'd be easy to get that into the fluff - it can't be very easy to find grown-up ogres that can be ordered to show up for the games.

Right now, I'm not 100% sure they need a boost. If they do need a boost the last thing I'm gonna do is allow them more ST 5 players. They still will only be able to start with 1 or 2 ST 5 players no matter how many they have access to. The balance issues with this team will come up later. A progressed team is capable of have 4 ST-5 and 7 ST-4 players on the pitch at once. That's not where I want to tweak just yet. I think the best thing to do is get an article written for Fanatic and get people testing them.

Anybody have pics of an Ogre team?

Is the Throw Teammates and the goblins in the ogre roster really necessary ? Would look much better without to me. You might add 2 more blockers instead

Well, only 2 players can TTM, and with only 2 gobbo's, both of who are wearing bullseyes on their chests, I don't think we need to worry about the team trying 1 turners all the time. I think in 2 games against me Pariah has tried it 2 or 3 times, and one of them BH the Gobbo.

Yeah it is needed ... see there is this mini of an Ogre throwing a goblin that YA GOTTA USE. We may not like the rules of team design, but if you don't follow them you won't get much air time with your ideas.

Pariah, I like the team. I think its a keeper. I hope Fanatic uses it.
