I have been playing the Necro team (both tabletop and online) and it's okay, but I really think the WW is useless and needs to be changed, he tends to get KOed or injured quite easily (and frequently) so doesn't really help much. Don't mind the FGs, but they do need regen. The original undead was a better team, but I could see the split coming way back in BBmag1 when they first had the proposal for seperate Khemri (and vamp) team, knwe that mummies and skellies were going to eventually be replaced on undead team. If they beefed up the WW and gave the team 2 (like in Galak's league), I could probably live with the Necro team replacing the Undead team.
BTW, I was the first one to suggest that they keep the original roster around (I mean the real original one with 2 wights) and add one or two reg vamps and call it the Undead Pact or Undead All-Stars (let's face it, in 3ed, alot of people used Count Luthor on their Undead team, so would have the same kind of feel).

I think you are right, Tork.

I havent said at any point, that Necros were better, just more fun, because you have to watch out for you soft guys. Its not a never ending story to play against them, as the classic team was.
maybe it would be great if it looked like this:
0-2 Flesh Golems with regenerate instead of Thick Skull
0-2 wights
0-2 werewolves
0-4 ghouls
0-12 zombies

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

I don't hate the Necromantic team, it's just that they are eliminating the Undead roster for it, and therefore it's easy to see the Necromantic team as the culprit. The Undead team has been around for years, has some sweet figs, and is a fun team to play, they shouldn;t get rid of it all.

That said, I personally find them boring, but that's just me.

Blood Bowl goes goofy...

Post by Smeborg »

I liked the original Undead roster with 2 Wights. I also liked the original HE and DE rosters. I don't see the need to change well-liked and stable rosters that have been around since 3rd Ed. Ah, well...

The big leap being taken by Jervis at the moment is to make BB more "goofy" (his words), by getting away from the WHFB background. This worries me, as I feel that part of the genius of 3rd Ed. came from sticking fairly closely to the WHFB background (credible sides with real character, clean and balanced rosters).

So, my main concern is that we'll end up with "dirty" goofy sides (like the Necros) and throw out the baby with the bathwater (by getting rid of old rosters). Am I just a diehard?

Cheers

Ah yes Hammer House, back when horror was about being scary rather than about blood and guts.
