I'm also still waiting. Had expected the sub to start with mag 5. It didn't. Luckily I have a rather good little games shop in my home city that usually gets a few (!) in.

Seriously though: Their subscription system is shot? how difficult is it to ave a big old list of names?

I'm just waiting for them to claim noones buying it and drop it. We all know Fanatic is for all the stuff that GW don't think can still turn a profit.

I know BBRC member is gonna pop in here and shame but...

Have you all listened to yourselves? Why are fighting like hell to get these mags? When you do get them all we do is come here to discuss how to "fix" the new teams/rules that Fanatic made.

I'll be damned if I'm gonna pay top dollar for pulpy rag that is filled with crap! Let alone deal with mail Order Trollz just to get what I over-paid for in the first place.

I think we need to send them a message that we deserve better. I know I won't be buying one until I see it on eBay.

Ordered mine through the Virtual Merlin gaming store in the UK. Worked pretty good for issue #6. Got it one week after the folks in the UK which is about 3 to 4 weeks faster than I would have gotten it if I ordered the subscription through GW-UK to the US or through GW-US mailorder.

Galak

Actually Pariah, I enjoyed issues 3, 4, and 5. #6 was the first issue that I saw that I would define as crap.

Well I haven't read them but all I've heard so far for each of them seems to be (in a nutshell) "What the hell are they thinking?" Although some people seem to ejoy the lighter stuff. I've heard good things about Thrudd, and race specific leagues etc. But for me that doesn't justify $7 + S&H. Especially when I can just come here and learn what new team is overpowered. Seven dollars?! That's alot of money for any magazine. Now the BB mag doesn't advertise, I'll give you that, but they don't pay writers either. They also print it on cheap paper and don't add any color. The majority of that content they get for free and even the covers are recycled from old pics. I was a printer long enough to know what their costs are on that mag.

All I'm saying is that I hear a lot of bitching about just getting it and then it never fails to cause a 20 page thread discussion about how it's broken. Sorry, not worth $7 and a headache to me. Besides, I boycotted the Trollz a long time ago because of their stupidity.

 My nr.6 was waiting for me at home

Anyway...the match report is a promising format, but the Norse team was clearly played by a moron.
Anything the Browns write is worth a look.
The Ogre team fluff is quite good fun. Shame Andy botched the rules.
Not wildly impressed with Spike! this time.

Nr.5 was better - those World's edge league rules sound fun.

Its still worth a couple of quid.

Game Reports...

Does anyone really read those? I guess I have for Blood Bowl matches but I know the WHFB & WH40K reports in WD bore the piss out of me. I do find it amusing that the army that has the new minis is always the one that wins...and they don't just win, they usually dominate.   Do you think they play over and over again until it happens or just make it up?

I read them, and generally enjoy them. Don't expect any tactical help or anything actually useful though.

I think I read once that three games are played for each battle report with the most 'entertaining' one being the one that gets written up.

Just once i'd like to see the latest army (or whatever) lose. Might as well face the truth though that these are just marketing tools, been a while since much in any GW publication had any integrity.

The short answer is "no", but it is a qualified "no" because there are odd ways of interpreting the question which could justify the answer "yes".

I wish they'd do a battle report on an Orc army with new snotling minis. Wouldn't it be fun to see how the snotlings destroyed the hordes of Chaos?
