Ignore Digger - in his mind all the teams are over-powered except the dead ones (and the stunty ones), which is strange given that Undead are probably the best team bar Wood Elves.

Hobgoblins! With stabbers, blitzers, stripball runners and a troll..
Or daemons of slaanesh would be cool.
Or any non-boring team that can challenge the supremacy of Undead & wood elf (Best and most boring teams in BB)

I quite liked the insect team that was posted here a couple of years ago, so much so that I made a list for them. It was ST2 stunty claw spam, so Digger probably would have been a fan.

Deus Magi ... enjoying reading your posts ... please just keep in mind that some folks have been debating these topics for the better part of 15 years. Several of them have been directly harmed by GW in some manner. So you are going to have a jaded viewpoint from some.Deus Magi wrote:Well it may be an old thread to you, but it's a new thread to me
Carry on ... what you are doing is fine ... just don't let the fact that you'll get an occasional jaded comment damping your spirit of the quest.
I wrote a lot of the current rulebook ... I've had GW visit with a sack of oranges in the middle of the night ... I still want this to be a great game and hope for it ... so carry on.

Ooooh, now I never made that connection, between Tyrannids and insects. You could have all sorts of nasties, from fire bugs causing issues for Treemen, to that insect that lights up, perhaps the skill Flash -1 to opponents catching the ball if within two squares due to the bright light. Sticky web/nodes/legs -1 to dodge, that would be murder for the Halflings. You could have all sorts. A Woodlouse (Pilbug) curled up around the ball, and being kicked as if they were the ball. A Centipede Runner, that's just asking for it,.. and Legs Larry of the Garage Griblies is just getting ready to step on the pitch, he's putting on his shoes, so perhaps for a change he might even make it for the second half!
Yes, I know what its like to take a kick in the crackers, and if someone does it repeatedly then it can leave things a bit sore. I've been knocked a few times, so I'll try to stay in a fantasy world. The real one's got all sorts of issues!

Also bear in mind that (at least last time there were rule changes) there was a concerted effort to remove "weird" rules or rules that needed extra dice rolls (treemen getting help to stand up, Secret Weapon rolls, etc) so I doubt you'll even get consideration for rules like "firebugs effecting treemen".
Basically, if a team needs a special rule to work I doubt it will get a thumbs up (hence why although I'd love a Fimir team I don't expect to see one).

Fair play, a very good point. Things like that would detract from the momentum. Shame about the Fimirs, they would be interesting, and again well into the fantasy side. It would also be good to see a Zoat Big guy on the Elves team.

Wrong as usual... take time to search engine, or read my manifesto, and you'll find I favored (and still do) the elimination of the undead team....Darkson wrote:Ignore Digger - in his mind all the teams are over-powered except the dead ones (and the stunty ones), which is strange given that Undead are probably the best team bar Wood Elves.

Last time I read your waffle you were extolling the virtues of Undead, you even had it in your signature. Glad you've finally seen the light but I'm not going to go and constantly re-read that drivel to find out what is at the front of your feverish mind.

Before trying to get a new team added, ask yourself, is there really a place for it? Something which can't be done by existing teams which also isn't game-breaking? If you want to make a new finesse team, can you make it different enough from High elves, Wood elves, Skaven, Pro Elves, and so on, and so on? Or does your new team require some new special rules or a new skill that nobody else gets, to make it unique?
Want a pirate team? I've seen people make human pirates, orc pirates, elf pirates, undead pirates. Hey look, Axia painted a team of Jawas and Rancors, which can be used as Ogres, Goblins, or Halflings. Without making a special new Jawa team! I've seen a human team made from old Space Marine Scouts models. I've seen a Dark Elf team made from Daemonette models.
My takeaway from this is that many players want their teams to be unique, and display a lot of creativity in making unique teams without shoehorning rules for yet another team into the existing 24.
(Although that being said, I'd love for Cyanide's "Daemons of Khorne" to be added to an official ruleset, to make Blood Bowl as similar as possible across existing platforms, and because I'm one of like three people who actually enjoys playing that team. And because I actually have models for them).

I'd like to see teams to represent the other 3 Chaos gods. So Khorne, Tzeentch and Slannesh.
Also a forest spirit team - although this would be similar to a lizard man team, it could have titchy spirits with hypnotic gaze and some dryad blockers and a treeman perhaps.
Or it could have a Treeman, Treekin, Dryads and Spites. This would make it more like an Orc team

I'm a British Freebooter, will play for any team including Undead (I have my own Apothecary). Good rates.

Chaos Halflings!
Basically, every team in FUMBBL's Stunty Leeg would be really cool as actual mini's.

I want a Heroes of Law team as a sort of mirror image of the Chaos Pact. That, and finalizing the "official three" of Slann, Pact, and Underworld!

Re: What "new" race for BB would you like GW to bring out?
the only thing I would like to see is concept teams
i dont care about the fluff of these specifically but a team with all grab or a team with all wrestle might be interesting
i find that there are some skills that in isolation, do not measure up, but when you have a proportion of them on the team it tends to add up and really add value to the skill
there is definitely working proof of this in the likes of norse and amazon and even the unofficial khorne (moreso the khorne as block and dodge are extremely good on their own, whereas frenzy in isolation is hit or miss)

Re: What "new" race for BB would you like GW to bring out?
Rolo, Can I make it different? I know you don't mean it this way, but I won't be making anything, but that said, it would be good to have the spend to get a few artist concepts together and then contact a sculptor to create them. I'd prefer the original rules to have that team in them though, but then I'm getting into Epic (another game that's returning, Yayyyyy!) and reading up on that, there are 8 separate rule systems at this time (if I understand it fully). Some of those are fan created, as I'm sure many of you know, and very effective. Those rules are being tested and added to with the new armies brought out. The living rulebook was the same and if everyone agreed on a team or teams, then the same process could continue with Bloodbowl. It would need NAF, gamers and whoever to agree, but it is possible. Can I, we, make anything different? Well it is possible. Difficult, as there's not just the team look, but how it's going to play, and where it will fit in amongst the others. I suppose sitting down and looking at what each existing team can do, and where it can go and then see if there's a opening for something else. Kaiowas makes a fair point, as there must be an opening for something new, that plays differently.
Pirate team, I was just putting forward something that was a genre. Something that possibly an existing team could have, like a different flavour. Rather than GW or whoever, bringing out another set of Orcs. Here you go, Orcs again! Something about them that added slightly, even if only to the teams story. Here's Orcs, and later, we've redone the Orcs (slightly scaled up), and later now we've redone them again,...... slight scale creep, there you go, Orcs! and in the future, some even larger Orcs! But very relevant, and I actually saw the link this time, although only when I read you message the third time. New glasses maybe needed!
Yes, I do think a Daemons team would be good, officially recognised and in there. A good thing for GW, as Frogboy mentions, they could perhaps have four sets of miniatures, but only one actual team added to the rulebook. Maybe a few different skills between them, that also added into or complemented existing teams. A re-word of an existing skill could well accomplish that.
A forest spirit team? Yes, I'm up for that. I don't know if it would be similar to a Lizard man team? I see it having Faries in it. Laugh out loud if you like, but the Werner Klocke Fairies are an excellent example of what can be done. Plus it appeals to the ladies out there. I don't believe that sexist, as GW brought out their new Elven stuff, the Sisters of the Thorn and Wild Riders. When I saw them, and also the soft colours used in the advertising, I thought, ah, they've marketed them for the girls. Definitely a Treeman in the Woodland team. The Big Guys could be a Treeman, a Shambling mound or a Zoat, then the Dryads, Treekin and Fairies (larger) or Sprites / Nymphs (smaller and cheaper). There are various fabled creatures, Satyr or Faun with some sort of charm, like the Vampire gaze or maybe the Fairies could have that. Yes, I think that would be a good genre.
Heroes of Law is a good idea, and fits well. I could see that working.
