Well he did a fairly decent job of the first book, strange he should crash and burn so heavily in the second.

Perhaps BL did not run it past specialist games.
There was no-one in the BL office with a good knowledge of Blood Bowl

Seems strange though that he'd get the first book more or less right and then be so way off the mark for the second book.

Perhaps they spent more time on the first one, or got other people to read that one through.
There were still background errors with the first one.

All I hear about the first book is that it was "decent." Is it possible that the novelty was part of making it seem better than it was? And perhaps all he really accomplished was not making any continuity errors?

It wasn't any worse than the first book IMO, just more of the same. Enjoyable enuff in a 'pulp-fiction-read-in-a-day' type way.

Well the first won't win any literary prizes, but I thought it was ok. Brainless stuff, sorta literary junk food. I doubt any of the others are any different, and probably will get them and read them. Although those names are terrible, and I'm not the most creative namer, but I can do better than "Bavid Deckham."

The first one i thought was quite cool for the first 100 or so pages then i think the novelty wore off. Its not bad, its just not very good. I am sure i will buy the sequel.

I really enjoyed the first one.
I got the second one yesterday, started reading and it is truly awful.
Its not funny.
The chapter breaks make no sense (like the author was on a "paid by the chapter" commission, or "hey - its been five pages since I last had a new chapter!").
Don't get me started on the "love" scenes.
I'm only about 140 pages in...but its really hard work.
Oh...the proof reading is lousy too.

Bad, bad book.

I thought the first one was pretty bad literature, but I liked it for what it was, junk food for my brain. I can see the second one getting worse.
