So it's not just me being oblivious, then? Two releases (iPad upgrade and Mac version) that were instabuys for me were released within week of each other, and I had no idea either one was coming up. I thought maybe there was some protective field around me that I was unaware of...Darkson wrote:Silly yes, but seeing as Cyanide have enough trouble promoting their own stuff (Mac release anyone?) then it might be asking to much of them.JT-Y wrote:And yes, it'd be silly not to get Cyanide to run a few adverts for the new box set I totally agree.

Seriously guys....a Mac and an iPad aren`t exactly "Gaming platforms", like consoles or a PC. I feel this is rather service to people who don`t use the mentioned main platforms for gaming rather than a failed attempt of marketing. BB is also a product for a very small target group and Mac and iPad users narrow this "special group" down even further.
Most companys don`t even bother making a Mac version, so it is already a loss of money compared to the work they have to put in to translate the code for a different operating system. If they have done that, that`s more of a reason to be thankful instead of continued complaints.

Their last official word on aMac version was "no, none planned", so yes, it is failed marketing.

Well, that's exactly my point. A mainstream game that gets released on the Mac is rare enough that we Mac users usually hear about it way in advance, and they said nothing at all about it. Maybe it has something to do with Steam; I dunno.DinoTitanedition wrote:Seriously guys....a Mac and an iPad aren`t exactly "Gaming platforms", like consoles or a PC. And I'll bet we'd both be surprised at how much gaming is done on iPads...

that is the typical pessimistic way to look at it. To me it seems like it`s a bonus that wasn`t planned before.Their last official word on aMac version was "no, none planned", so yes, it is failed marketing.
I`m not, games are played a lot on tablets on mobile devices, but this is more like a portation of game that is made for a machine with more calculating power. Usually the controls are also an issue, but I think BB would work well on a tablet, if the screen is big enough. And I'll bet we'd both be surprised at how much gaming is done on iPads...
Well, that is what I am actually saying. I can see a lot of mobile games being played, but a "regular scale" game isn`t originally made to run on a mobile device.mobile gaming is VERY big business right now. which is hilarious since most mobile game i have ever played really stink.

I have BB on a tablet and it would work fine if they added all the teams and debugged it even to the level of the PC game.DinoTitanedition wrote: but I think BB would work well on a tablet, if the screen is big enough.

Back to original topic.
A point of clarity, and please correct me if I'm wrong . . .
They said they were keeping the core CRP rules. That can be widely interpreted.
Rosters aren't part of core rules (to me).
They have already said there would be changes to the league rules and star players. (Inducements are included in league rules.)
They could go so far as to say the "EXTRA RULES" part of CRP isn't "core" and do away with hand-offs and GFI.
That last example, while hopefully unlikely, is not beyond any official statements that I know of.

New Lost Patrol boxed game is in this week's White Dwarf. 23 minis (kinda, 5 scouts, 12 genestealers and 6 infestation points - sculpted tokens really) and priced at £35.
New Blood Bowl box should have a similar amount of figures (24?) and more card components but suggests that £45-50 might be feasible.

I wouldn't count on that, Lost Patrol uses existing figures and pretty old ones too.Vanguard wrote:New Lost Patrol boxed game is in this week's White Dwarf. 23 minis (kinda, 5 scouts, 12 genestealers and 6 infestation points - sculpted tokens really) and priced at £35.

Assassinorum: Execution Force, Deathwatch Overkill or The Horus Heresy: Betrayal at Calth are more likely price comparisons I fear.

I'm really not worried about the price. Mean to say, I can't imagine it will be much more than $135usd. Even if it is, I know everyone in our league(about 15 core members, another 7-10 "mostly" hardcore) will buy a set.
Who knows how long it will hang around. Better make up your mind to buy it when it drops.

A few new pics of the boxed set on BOLs.
Orcs and Humans look to be pretty much the same, but I do like the skaven and dwarf they have done.
