Who's Pubbla? :?:

And I agree those teams will have a harder time than say Dwarfs or Woodies, but all being equal, I'd still back any regular team over halflings.

Wait wait wait....

I think we should go back to the inference that the unfortunately hairy squirrel Pube-La is of higher rank than me.

I'll kick off the debate: "Grrr, no he isn't. Just look at him."

Pubbla is close enough is suppose. :D

I'd certainly say that flings will never have things easy. But a lot of coaches assume they are an auto-win, and at low TV they can be surprisingly tough to beat.

The trouble with flings and the other non-tier 1 teams is that they take skill to use and have a unique play style. But this can also make them difficult to beat in the hands of an experienced coach. The fling coach will have faced lots of teams who all play the same sort of way but most coaches will have rarely faced flings or have had an easy time of it. Most fling coaches do it for fun or get fed up with losing a lot and choose another team, so they won't have the number of games under their belt.

The same can be true of vampires and slann.

I got rocked by vampires at the Chaos Cup! They went undefeated, though, made me feel a bit better.

And if rank is a show of your prowess at BB, I must be a Blood Bowl God - I laugh at mere Superstars.

Still wrong.

You get to be an eternal rookie by posting just to bump your post count, or because a mod decides you deserve it (no idea who gave it to Sillysod ).

icepelt wrote:Yes, it really depends at what stage. Teams without block/tackle, it cannot knock down halflings efficiently. Khemri and vamps are pretty terrible at tv 1000. At tourneys, halflings could do well with the right coach. Ogre's, they are pretty much always terrible. Snots cannot do anything really. Ogre's really cannot get any excellent improvement skills to totally change the game. Basically, stunties like the AG+.
snotlings cannot do anything because the TICHIE skill was revised and not in a good way.
tichie was originaly "1d6-1 extra snots when setting up the team at the beginning of a half or after a touchdown was scored". now its what? one(1) extra? that automaticly makes the team unplayable.
mean to say, i understand a snotling team should be terrible. i get that. but if its ment to ALWAYS lose, then way is it even a listed team?
in my club we use the old tichie 1d6-1 rule. that plus the 3 trolls gives the team a chance.

How can you comment on a team being "unplayable" when you don't even know it's rules?

right again, simon! where do you want me to send the cookie?
tictchy, as it stands, makes snotling teams a "why bother proposition". i supose powergamers like the new titchy rule. but i would think that no one would play a snotling team with this new rule.

for those who would like to try the snotling team the way it was supposed to be played(and have a chance to win a match), heres the original(and still the best) titchy rule"

TITCHY:the player is incredibly tiny(even smaller than a halfling or goblin). to represent this, he makes all dodge rolls with a +2 modifer and may ignore any enemy tackle zones on the square he is moving to. titchy players must increase the range by one catergory when they make a pass and opposing coaches may add +1 to the injury roll for a titchy player.
in addition, it is very hard for the ref to keep track of how many titchy players are on the pitch at any one time. to represent this, a coach may set up an EXTRA 1d6-1 titchy players every time he sets up his team, after setting up his normal allocation of 11 players. this may allow teams with titchy players to have more than 11 players on the field. 8)

a friend of mine played the snotling & troll team in a league many years ago and it was a lot of fun. he would have a ton of snotlings on the pitch and gleefully throw 3 die block uphill because why not? he had the players to spare and sometimes it worked :orc:

Snotlings were originally an unofficial roster that included a shedload of snotlings along with three trolls.

In LRB5 the official ogre team got gutted and snotlings were added to replace the goblins that had been on the team previously.
