I definately have questions for those who are on the "committee", How would you recommend the best option of contact? E-mail, PM, scroll of goblin flesh inked in blood? (that last was an attempt to add levity to the thread)

You should have had about 10! You can see the full set here: http://www.nafnewsletter.com/archive/archive.html

I do Facebook, Tweet and post here and on the NAF forum when a newsletter is released (or I try to), so if you ever don't get one just let me know!

And, just as a rough guess, what percentage was about how the NAF hierarchy are improving the organisation itself? It's this sort of increased visibility and communication that was asked for, and promised, in the last two or three Presidential elections.

I don't know, maybe it is because my rude behavior...

But no one answer who choose the NAF WC venue.
Nor what the money was spent in this precise NAF dependent tournament
Nor a real disclosure of NAF accounts (really Paul? These numbers should be fine for any organization in order to be evaluated? Remember there are many consultants playing BB, all of them told published info is barely nothing).
Nor which are the website plans when I asked two years ago.
...

Hey guys, you really wasted me.

What about NAF next? I don't know, maybe Lycos connections with GW will grant to members a free Space Hulk for everyone or something like that... :smoking:

Isn't his point?

You're like the Titanic band. Playing the same old song while the boat sinks... I expect at least something new.

Lucy and me chose the NAF WC venue, you should know that by now, or do you mean location i.e. city?

Sure:
1. Make a complete break with greedy w@nkers; they have spat an shat on BB fans for too long
1a. Come forth with personal and professional relationships and feelings for granny by all naf officers whether you break or not
2. address, in a positive and concrete manner, all questions posed here....
3. Set up a mirror North American, Australian, and other branch to achieve parity....
4. OPEN communications and reporting of financials; this ain't a club no more....
5. If this is all too much for your volunteer spirit, say so and bow out....

I joined the first two years and quickly came to the conclusions included in the current and recent posts of others.... An independent and world equitable organization I might support... the current, euro-centric group of Quislings and Chamberlaines... not a chance....

(for the record, I'm a world-centric, Francophile-American!)

It certainly isn't helping. You said on NAF that you "were done being polite". That's a shame.
Pakulkan wrote:But no one answer who choose the NAF WC venue.
You know that Lycos asked people from many different countries to be on a panel. MANY different countries. I don't have the list, only Lycos has the list, although I can confirm I was on it (my tenure as NAF Treasurer had started already).
Pakulkan wrote:Nor what the money was spent in this precise NAF dependent tournament
You clearly believe that these accounts should be made public. I do not and have said this before. One of the NAF committee WAS involved in the organisation of it, but it WAS NOT organised by the NAF. So it was a tournament, much like any other, just A LOT BIGGER. Are you suggesting that all tournaments have public accounts?
Pakulkan wrote:Nor a real disclosure of NAF accounts (really Paul? These numbers should be fine for any organization in order to be evaluated? Remember there are many consultants playing BB, all of them told published info is barely nothing).
I assume this is a request for more detail. The accounts are published every January on the NAF site and have been since January 2011 - and this is the first time that I am aware of any complaints of "lack of detail". If they lack sufficient detail for anyone's purposes, then improvements can be suggested over pm - that way you can be sure I will see them. I may not agree that that level of detail is needed, but I will respond. Why do I have to even write this down? - surely this is obvious to someone that feels they want more detail in the accounts? Unless they just want to complain and the accounts seems a good target.
Pakulkan wrote:Nor which are the website plans when I asked two years ago.
THIS is a good point. The fact that I do not have answers for you is disappointing and I'm sorry.
Pakulkan wrote:You're like the Titanic band. Playing the same old song while the boat sinks... I expect at least something new.
I'm sorry Pako but I'm beginning to think you are playing the same tune quite a bit yourself.
Digger Goreman wrote:Sure:

GW have provided dice to the organisation at cost for ten years. And now we have no relationship but I refuse to believe that we should start making dice the minute they stop providing them for us. You disagree - fine.
Digger Goreman wrote:1a. Come forth with personal and professional relationships and feelings for granny by all naf officers whether you break or not
As far as I know only myself out of the five man NAF committee has a personal or professional relationship with anyone at GW. I am friends with Jervis and have been since we worked on the BBRC. I recently moved to Nottingham so see him occasionally socially. Anybody that feels this is some sort of conflict should raise their hand - and be thoroughly embarrassed with themselves. One perhaps for the re-election in early 2014.
Digger Goreman wrote:2. address, in a positive and concrete manner, all questions posed here....
How I am doing so far? It beggars belief though that only the NAF committee have to address issues in a "positive and concrete manner". Some of the questioning and attitudes here leave a lot to be desired.
Digger Goreman wrote:3. Set up a mirror North American, Australian, and other branch to achieve parity....

The reason why we have a euro-dominated committee is because Lycos won an election, against two fellow Europeans (i.e. no Americans/Australians/Canadians stood). Lycos' VP is indeed Dutch. I was elected unopposed as apparently no-one else wanted to be Treasurer at last election (and I'm beginning to see why). Pippy won a close election against two North Americans for the TD and Valdric is Membership director out (from the States). But for a few votes in the TD election, we could have 40% of the committee being North American. As it is, it's 20% currently and maybe that will be addressed in the 2014 elections that are just over 6 months away.
Digger Goreman wrote:4. OPEN communications and reporting of financials; this ain't a club no more....

The finances ARE reported. If you have a problem with the detail, as above, pm me.
Digger Goreman wrote:5. If this is all too much for your volunteer spirit, say so and bow out....

It isn't too much (yet), but thanks for the concern.

If people have genuine questions then they can always pm or email the committee members. If you want to ask questions publicly, don't expect a committee member to immediately pick it up, but as long as it is civil, I'm sure it will be addressed at some stage. If you just want to be rude and confrontational, and show how vitriolic you can be with a keyboard, then don't expect any more answers in a hurry.
