Hi All,
Is there a way of making a league on putting it on a forum like this by using word or excel.
If have tryed a few different ways with and without the of "code" but all it seems to do is bunch the information to the side of the screen.
Any Ideas.

Re: league table
I use Tim's Halfling Scribe CookBook, and after matches are played I use Windows Snipping Tool to copy the table. Then I use Image Shack to post it to my forum. Here's my latest for example.

And at the same time I post a Dropbox link where I keep the Excel spreadsheet so everyone can access it.

TOs! You do not need multiple copies of rosters. It's a waste of paper.
Bribe level: good coffee.

Never really thought about doing that. If I were technically inclined and knowledgeable of these things I suppose it could be done.dode74 wrote:You could just save the excel spreadsheet as a web page, could you not?

Subject: league table
First get hold of MS Excel, one or the other (in no way do I advocate piracy, but it is available if you look around
Tim's webpage with the Cookbook is here http://bbowl.gmxhome.de/scribe/scribe.htm
The download you want is http://bbowl.gmxhome.de/scribe/scribe_league_v4.02.zip
Have a good read of the help page http://bbowl.gmxhome.de/scribe/help.htm and the ReadME tab on the spreadsheet itself.
Set up the league however you want it. I've been playing with it for years and even put in some development ideas in the current version, so I know my way around the workbook, but that's only because I have played around with it. If you save a copy and make back ups it doesnt matter if you break it.
As it stands when first downloaded and not modded, as you enter matches in the Results tab they will appear in the Ranking tab.
Then use Windows Snipping Tool (which comes with Win7, but I'm sure a free version is available somewhere if you are still on xp/vista) to take a snapsnot of the Ranking table.
Create a user name at Image Shack http://imageshack.us/ (there are other image hosting sites, but this one seems to work every where, like here on TFF for example, and is my personally fave) and upload the image created with the Snipping Tool.
Highlight the "forum code" and Copy it. Paste that line into your forum post.
I keep my leagues cookbook in a DropBox folder (dropbox can be downloaded and installed from here https://www.dropbox.com/referrals/NTQ5OTg4MDM5 [if you follow and set up via this referal link we both get more space], follow the really straight forward set up guide to start using it) then when ever I update my league spreadsheet, after a match for example, I copy a new link for my players to download the updated cookbook.
Additional help with the cookbook can be found here on TFF

Not sure if there's an easier way on XP, but I use "Print Screen", paste into Paint (or other graphics tool), then crop out the bit I want.lunchmoney wrote:Then use Windows Snipping Tool (which comes with Win7, but I'm sure a free version is available somewhere if you are still on xp/vista) to take a snapsnot of the Ranking table.

Re: league table
That wouldn't help make it readable on the forum.

Then I have to do something with it and a website. That's where the trouble starts:)dode74 wrote: Save as -> use the dropdown to select "Web Page". It saves as HTML.
My method works for me and my small league, I really haven't the patience to teach my self about working with web pages.
