Wondering if anyone has tried to set up a BB league using an NFL-style (The Crush) instead of the current money-based system?
A sample of how it might work in a one-race League:
1. Allow teams much more to start - perhaps enough to fill an entire roster with max Linemen plus a few skilled players, or half linemen, etc.
2. Play a season.
3. Generate a set number of potential recruits. These recruits can also have a few innate stat increases when they are there - a few great 'blue chip' players and mostly normal peons. Allow teams to draft in order of record suckage.
4. Team cut players to keep a legal roster.
5. Repeat.
Furthermore, you could run an interesting league where only the starting roster must be legal in regards to race of player - if the Halfling Team has the worst record in the League and wants to draft that Blodging Troll for its first pick, go to it.
If anyone tries this in a league, give me two things: a small byline and a report on how it worked!
