I've come up with an idea that might make 'ageing' acceptable.

Here's the thing:
The players that 'age' contribute as normal to Team Rating.
I propose that these players contributing SPP should be reset to the following:

Experienced: 0 SPP
Veteran: 6 SPP
Emerging Star: 16 SPP
Star Player: 31 SPP
Super-Star: 51 SPP
Mega-Star: 76 SPP
Legend: 126 SPP

Has this idea been brought up before? Playtested?

what would be the target of this approach?

Would they loose a skill as well? Other than that, would the team rating go down, but they keep all their capabilities (best case, you have more skills and get a handicap roll on top).

I probably got it wrong, so maybe you could eleborate a little.
