safe throw

It's extremely annoying. Intercepting a pass from a safe throw guy has become merely impossible! Maybe we should do the same as with regeneration. Safe throw goes wrong on a 1-3 on a d6. Any support?

I always had the opinion that for regeneration and safe throw the 3+ range would be far better.
And no, I do not play undead usually ...

IMO safe throw is fine - a player has to have a fairly good reason for choosing it anyway, like playing in a league of welfs

No it shouldn't, but it could be complemented by an interception skill that partially countered it. Pass block doesn't count because that almost never works.

in my opinion,it s just fine as it is right now. I ve seen so much drive killed by a lucky "6" rolled on an interception (even with lot of tacle zones) so, having one or 2 player per team that can really rarelly been intercepted seem fair to me.
Btw i m a coach who pass a lot, and i often take safe throw. If it would be a 3+ or 4+ i would never take it anymore.

Since throwing is vital to my high elf team - I'd keep safe throw as it is. I tend to roll ones anyway!
If you nerf safe throw you reduce the options for good passing teams - and the variety goes down....
Really - an elf intercepts on a 5+ - rerolling if they have catch - so an AG 5 catch passblock player would be a menace without safe throw as it is!

Yep that maybe so, but what about the poor guys with AG 3 and less. The've got no chance what so ever! They need a six. Making TD's for passing teams easy will increase the stalling tactics by not so agile teams. And in that case I don't even blame them!
Note that I play dark elves and never ever take safe throw, just to keep a tinge in the match that something unexpected might happen!

Without safe throw, an interception occurs once in every six passes (assuming you pass over an opposition player) even against an average AG3 team.
This is simply not realistic! As my Woodies hurl another long bomb over the LOS, you wouldn't expect their blockers to catch it once in every six times.
Interceptions are TOO COMMON already, and deter many teams from playing a passing game. Safe throw merely counters that.

Nothing wrong with it as it stands, if it aint broke don't fix it.

Safe throw is what? At best a 2nd skill and probably a 3rd or 4th skill for most throwers. Why make it worse?
Most good coaches wont give you a decent chance at an interception if they can help it.

When do you stop though? If there is an agility skill to counter Safe Throw then there should be a passing skill to counter that agility skill and so on.

Fair point, I was just thinking out loud really.
Another case is strip ball v. sure hands... it used to be that we made strength rolls for that (in the good old v2 days), but now you can't get the ball off someone with sure hands unless you take them down. I think sure hands is too good and strip ball not good enough, but that's an argument for another thread.

I think it's fine as is. Nobody in my league is taking it and we have some serious powergamers in the HBBL!

I think it is too good!
You spend 3 skills to build a really good pass blocker, and then your opponent picks safe throw and you look like a fool.
We had safe throw at 4+ for a whole year (600 games or so), and then changed it to 3+. 3+ is perfect. It is pretty reliable, but it can fail, even when backed up by a reroll.

What the hell are you talking about? I don't think they're common enough. It's nearly impossible to intercept a throw (when you even have someone who can get a finger on it), as many people have pointed out already.
Safe throw should be 4+, 3+ at the best.
