another _brilliant_ idea that came up designing a excel team roster...
reason? because i was wondering that all collumns exept NI account for Starplayer Points. thats all. I like that adding everything together and dividing by 5 thing ^^

Now I just want you to explain how getting hurt to the point it's recurring is worth an SPP. Please try and explain this.

Now THATS is easy.
Just imagine the Guy walking into the Locker Room... there's all this talk like "Remember the Game that Troll broke my neck ? jeeees, I was lucky the Doc' fixed me up i continued to play and scored 2 Touchdowns in the second half..."
Just think of a bunch of battle-hardened warriors; Their injuries are like trophies to them... The number of niggling injuries indicates the guy has been around some time and you'd better not mess with him - he knows he can take a hit, do you ?
I can tell you I play hockey so I kinda know what I'm talking about here...
I dont think it would hurt. Getting a niggle is annoying enough. Nobody would WANT to collect Starplayer Points that way, exept - Goblins maybe

house rules only; if you want to play this way, play the Bright Crusader rules from the MBBL2.

I played them for 2 seasons (12 games) and they were a lot of fun, but I'd never suggest they should be official.

I agree with Galak. The Bright Crusaders rules are an amusing idea, but I would hate to see them official.
As to your point Toby,
"Niggle is annoying enough. "
I would say to you that that is the point. When you get these injuries you are suppossed to start considering the cost/benefit of keeping that particular player on the team. Adding even a single SPP for it would dilute this effect.

It would have ZERO effect

Think of a guy that gained 5 Starplayer Points by getting HURT...
If any it would be to show off for those cheerleaders on the aftergame party...

Then why bother inflating the rules even more

Why would a player gain skills from being hit hard one too many times?

Toby, is there
any rule in the LRB you don't want to change?

It would be 1 SPP point in favour of keeping that player. Not a huge effect you could argue but still there.
And to quote Bloodbasher Masher
why bother inflating the rules even more
Your own statement
I dont think it would hurt. Getting a niggle is annoying enough.
This is my point. Getting a niggle IS annoying, it's supposssed to be! Even 1 SPP is too much for it. Besides if 1 SPP really means nothing then why does the last turn, meaningless quick pass exist?

5 Completitions = 5 SPP
5 Niggling Injuries = 5 SPP + Retirement.
It's simply a result of playing around with excel sheets... nothing serious... it would fit "the fluff" perfectly to reward somebody for giving the fans a show and break his neck.
Breaking your neck and return to the game if that doesn't indicate your a Starplayer i don't know what does. You know what I diddn't suggest to award a Starplayer ROLL but only a small Starplayer POINT to ease the pain of that broken neck of yours.

You've got it the wrong way round. Make excel support the game, not the game support excel.
Its a really awful reason for wanting to change something.
