When the Ogre/Troll etc.. block the sky on the chosen path of the thrown ball you would think that would make more of a difference than just another player; some or all of the Very Long Legs trait description would seem to apply well for those occassions and would add some deserved utility to the brutes. If the +1 to intercept seems too much you could complicate things and call it a knockdown from the Big Guy's square but Very Long Legs for most of the Big Guys(and of course an increased cost) would seem to fit straight out of the box.

Re: Big Guy Interception/Knockdown
If there was a big guy in the way I think the throwing player would aim higher to avoid that big guy.
Though in fluff terms a big guy doesn't want the ball to him its just another random projectile, like the bloodwiser bottles thrown from the crowd, only the fevered roar of the coach can incourage the big guy to even try to intercepet.Did you watch LOTR? Imagine treebeard trying to move fast enough to catch a quick pass, it ain't gunna happen.
Plus this would make a AG2 big guy as good at interccepting as a regular player, don't want that now do we?
Also, put giant gloves on(fumbbly hands), smack yourself in the head with a brick*(to represent bone head) put on a motercycle helmet(football helmet) and try to catch a fast moving ball in the air. Isn't easy is it?
*please don't try it. I don't want to be sued.

Re: Big Guy Interception/Knockdown
An AG2 guy already intercepts as well as a regular player. Both need a 6! And VVL wouldn't do anything. All big guys are AG2 or less, so they either need a 5+ or a 6+ on the agility table. An AG2 guy with VVL still needs a 6 to intercept: +1 for VVL and -2 to intercept means a roll of 5 is modified to 4 = fail!

Re: Big Guy Interception/Knockdown
It can be established that most big guys have very long legs, that their low Ag will not break game mechanics with the implementation of adapting Very Long Legs; in addition, the Safe Throw nullification can have a game effect.
If a Big Guy somehow gets Leap and wants to try and use it then his long legs would make that a more viable option [an actual reason to consider an Ag increase on some big guys].
I like the idea of knocking down a pass too but that would have to be possible by any eligible player and the game has not gone there so no need to ad a whole new dynamic unless the powers to be want to go there.
All said, many Big Guys and VVL seem to make common sense.

Re: Big Guy Interception/Knockdown
Treemen should have the Intercept skill, and maybe even Diving Catch, to represent the advantage of having branches as arms.
