This is how Griff Oberwald looks today:
Star Player Blitzer / Griff Oberwald 8448 Block, Dodge, Leap, Sprint, Sure Feet
This is how he developed:
Human Legend Blitzer 8448 Block, Dodge, Leap, Sprint, Sure Feet 180K General, Strength
Human Rookie Blitzer 7338 Block 90K General, Strength
-> 7 Star Player Rolls +1 MA +1 ST +1 AG Double, Double, Double, Double
This is how Griff Oberwald would look if he was a Catcher:
Star Player Catcher / Griff Oberwald 8448 Block, Dodge, Leap, Sprint, Sure Feet
This is how he would have developed:
Human Legend Catcher 8447 Catch, Dodge, Block, Leap, Sprint Sure Feet 180K General, Agility
Human Rookie Catcher 8237 Catch, Dodge 70K General, Agility
-> 7 Star Player Rolls +1 ST +1 ST +1 AG Skill, Skill, Skill, Skill & Magic Helmet removed -1 AV
Balancing Changes: -2 Star Player Rolls (-1 ST, -1ST)
That would be the balanced Griff Oberwald:
Human Super Star Catcher 8247 Catch, Dodge, Block, Leap, Sprint Sure Feet 180K General, Agility
Human Rookie Catcher 8237 Catch, Dodge 70K General, Agility

Sorry but a Griff Oberwald as a human catcher is perhaps balanced but surely against the background
Griff Oberwald is a human blitzer

Griff Oberwald has retired looong ago in 3rd Edition.
The unnamed human Starplayer could be a catcher...
SHOW SOME FLEXIBILITY

Ok I show some flexibility.

Your star player could be named Gruff Oberwood and cost 150k gp.
If you want to update Griff Oberwald (the true one) exchange Sprint with Sure hands for example.

Has anyone actually bought St Griff of the holy TD? Buy the the time you can afford him you probaly don't need him!

Also, the wood elves have put a hit on him since he is miss using skills lerned in the Elvish acadamy of military dance.

Hey Toby, why don't you redesign Mighty Zug as a Thrower?

Im getting pissed.
If you look at the in game Mechanics, which is somewhat alien to most people here on this board, you will quickly discover that to build Griff Oberwald from a BLITZER you need MA+ ST+ and 4!!! AGILITY Skills.
Or, a 10, a 12 and 4 more doubles.
If you however ALLOW YOURSELF SOME CREATIVITY and build the guy based on a CATCHER, then BOOM you get a POSSIBLE CREATURE.
Reduce Strength by 2 and here you have a Star thats balanced, fun to play and not undefeatable for your opponent.
And BY THE WAY i REDESIGNED ZUG as a freaking BIG guy. Let me tell you - it works, and its cool. The rest of you go ahed pick your stupid ogre.

Well, obviously no one told him that. He seemed to be very active at this years BB tourney.

He's a freakin' star!

Of course he has fantastic rolls!

THE FREAKING STARS SHOULD BE BANNED FROM THE FREAKING GAME BECAUSE THEY ARE ALL BROKEN.
Replace them with something that picks up die IDEA without giving the STARS, CHAMPS, whatever COMPLETELY FANTASTIC ROLLS WITHOUT AGEING and/or RACIAL CHARACTERISTIC. Without ignoring the Skill/Trait split; ASDF
Is it so hard to see that we are talking about a game design problem here where a feature was not translated to an updated version of the game because the lack of TIME MONEY WHATEVER ?
I dont give a damn thing about the warhammer world and if snow trolls eat fish or not. A Human Starplayer with 4!!! Agility Skills can not be based on a FREAKING BLITZER. PERIOD.
If someone wants a Blitzer Star, here you go pick 4 Streght Skills and the Leader Trait, charge 190.000 and here you go. By the time anybody can afford him cost and teamrating wise, the rest of the team will easily keep up with him. I feel like i am talking to cows.

Why can't a SP human blitzer be AG4. If it was his 1st roll, why wouldn't you go the agility route?
One of my Norse blitzers got +1 AG for his 1st skill. Should I just ignore that cos he's a blitzer and meant to hit things? No! I look at skills that use it, and doubles will probably be spent on agility skills rather than traits.
Why is everything so B&W for you? Like I asked somewhere else, is there actually a rule in the LRB that you like, as you seem set on re-writing all of them.

U missunderstood me - again.
not AG4 = +1 AG
but 4*AG Skill = 4*Double.
thx
oh i better explain, you know there's this thing called PROPABILITY, that reduces the chance to acces a category you are not allowed to to 1/6 per Star Playe Roll, so a Level 6 Blitzer is allowed a AVERAGE of 1 AG Skill or ST/GE Trait...

That's what happens when you speak cow.

I understand perfectly. I also have a player whose 1st 3 rolls were doubles, so I can't see your difficulty in letting a SP have 4 doubles.

I only answer when Toby has rules questions about the LRB ... keeps me safe as otherwise Toby believes I end up speaking cow also.
