Another try on mixed teams...

I just tinkered around and wanted to create two fluff-based (?), balanced (?) mixed teams. Still a rough try. What do you think? The evil team still too good?
Certainly the biggest problem on mixed teams are the inclusion of Elfs and respectively mixes of AG4 and ST4 players. I wanted to do the good team are little more "agile" and the evil one more "punchy"

Old World Team
0-8 Human Linemen 6 3 3 8, G, 50K
0-4 Halflings 5 2 3 6, Dodge, Stunty, A, 30K
0-4 Elfs 6 3 4 8, G/A, 70K
0-2 Human Blitzer 7 3 3 8, Block, G/S, 90K
0-2 Human Thrower 6 3 3 8, Sure Hands Pass, G/P, 70K
TRR: 60K
Big Guys: 1x Treeman

Chaos Pact
0-8 Chaos Marauders 6 3 3 7, Block, G, 50K
0-4 Skaven 7 3 3 7, G/Phy, 50K
0-4 Beastmen 6 3 3 8 G/S/Phy, 60K
0-2 Dark Elf Blitzer 7 3 4 8, Block, G/A, 90K
TRR: 70K
Big Guys 1x Troll

I'd go for a linemen-based roster:
Old World Team
0-8 Human Linemen 6 3 3 8, G, 50K
0-4 Halflings 5 2 3 6, Dodge, Stunty, A, 30K
0-4 Elfs 6 3 4 7, G/A, 70K
0-4 Dwarfs 4 3 3 9, Block, Tackle, Thick Skull, G/S, 80K
TRR: 70K
Big Guys: 1x Treeman
For fluff, I'd enjoy a rule saying that a dwarf won't ever pass or hand-off to an elf, or vice versa... :)

Gotta fix that elf.

He has to be 7 3 4 7... Only High or Darkies wear armour as lineelfs. Plus, Elves are faster than humies. 6 3 4 8 is just an agile humie. Boring!

6 3 4 8 is the standard High/Dark elf Lineman, giving them 7 3 4 7 Wood Elf Linemen would be too unbalancing IMHO..

Ok, I've also had an idea:

Goodies:
0-12 Human Linemen
0-4 Halflings

0-2 Linemen or Positionals at +20k per player from
Human, Dwarf, Halfling, Amazon
0-2 Linemen or Positionals at +20k per player from
Wood Elf, High Elf, Sea Elf

0-1 Ogre, Treeman, Troll

Baddies:
0-12 Orc Linemen
0-4 Goblin

0-2 Linemen or Positionals at +20k per player from
Chaos, Dark Elf, Skaven, Orc
0-2 Linemen or Positionals at +20k per player from
Norse, Goblin, Chaos Dwarf

0-1 Troll, Minotaur, Rat Ogre

Is it? The new Pro Elf team would put the lie to the idea that 6348 is standard. How would one extra square of movement and acute vulnerability be unbalancing? It could be argued that High Elves and Darkies are both very "war oriented" and hence take to the pitch armoured. a "true" elf bloodbowler relies on speed and agility to be his shield. Hence I believe the Pro/Wood Elf Linelf to be the "true" elf lineman.

The High/Dark elf lineman is truly a great player. He's got no real disadvantage, except his price maybe. He's a potential blodger, he's fast enough and AG4 allows him to be a good ball handler if need be. The Wood/Pro elves have to pay for their extra skill with the ball. AV7 is a HUGE difference compared to AV8. That being said, I think the Wood/Pro elf is a better fit for this team.

and what about this two options?

justice alliance:

0-12 human lineman
0-4 dwarf longbeards
0-2 human thrower
0-2 pro elf lineman
0-2 halflings
0-1 ogre/treeman
RR: 60k

evil pact:
0-12 orc lineman
0-4 chaos dwarf blockers
0-2 dark elf throwers
0-2 skaven lineman
0-2 goblins
0-1 troll/minotaur
RR: 70k

Actually, I would leave Orcs and Goblins out of the Evil pact team, as it would look too much like an Orc team with allies else.

Hi all,
I don't want to abduct this thread, so I'll just point to my thread on the Tilean (mixed race) Team in "New Concepts".
See, I liked the mechanic of getting either 2 linemen or 1 position player.

Cheers

Orrrrrrrrrrrr....... (something off the cuff, loosely based on 2nd edition mixed teams).

A good mixed race may only pick from other good or neutral teams, and evil mixed races may only pick other evil or neutral teams.

Primary Race: 0-12 players from the race following the usual restrictions.
Seconday Race: 0-6 Linemen or 1 positional from the race. Or 1 Big Guy that can be chosed by the primary race.
Tertiary Race: 0-2 Linemen or 1 positional from the race.

You MUST attempt to field more primary players than Secondary and Tertiary combined, the only time you are allowed to field less is if they would not be allowed on the field.

Primary, Secondary and Tertiary races MUST roll a d6 before handing off or passing (not catching) to a player not from the same group. On a 1-3 they dislike that player and won't throw or give away the ball, the action is lost. On a 4+ the player may pass or handoff the ball as usual.

Use your judgement for what's good, evil and neutral.

or just use the dungeon bowl rules for teams, they look good, cept for the Dark Team. 4 mummies, 2 trolls and dark elves on the same team!!!
