Transfers

Post by lanky316 »

Following on from my cconversion of blood bowl to the real world with my youth set ups post. How would you suggest bringing in transfers. My idea is a simple one and is as follows.

Using one of the old ally lists you get a selection of teams and potential allies for them. Let the teams who can be allied buy/sell players to eachother with very lose rules like IRL soccer and rugby. There is no prearranged fee. I have seen ideas where people say thinbgs like basic pay+5*spp=fee and things like this but I want to give coaches more say by allowing them to discuss things and use them as necessary.

This is a first idea and want to know what you think about it.

In Longshot league the minimum transfert amount are estimated by the commisionner (with Jervis Jonhson's Formula). And after that the two team are free to make their business.

Ogres are the only true Blood Bowl players !
Ogrewomen are the only true BB Cheerleaders !

Hey, sorry to resurrect an old topic with my first post here... :o . I have just returned to the game after 7 lonely years wondering the BB-less wilderness, and started a (very small) league in my house. We are playing:
Norse (me)
Orcs
Humans
Chaos

(like I said, VERY small :D ).

I am wondering if anyone has successfully used a transfer system (with or without allies) in a league, and whether some teams gained an unfair advantage because of their better linemen (elves spring to mind), or whether it remained balanced.

The idea of a norse team with a couple of mummies up front, dwarfs at the back, and wardancers on the wings sounds unbeatable to me...

Well a team with «a couple of mummies up front, dwarfs at the back, and wardancers on the wings».... hardly will be considered a Norse team!!

This would be hardly BB, but you can make a league where everybody can hire any player, from any roster.... it won't resemble the BB as we know... and I don't want even to mention painting (perhaps painting only the bases!?!).... but I think it can be fun...

There are two main options: Stick to BB rules (and use, if you want Allies rules - the more «official» I know are from http://www.midgardbb.com/MixedRace.html ) or depart from there...
And then the skie is the limit!!...
But I would limit the transfers to existing teams, and let players make theirs deals....
