Help me with trading

Post by SkavenGoblinfood »

Ok, I want to make it so the teams in my small legue can trade fairly.I want it so every team can trade with at least 1 other team in the legue. Give me suggestions on who can trade with who.
Here are the teams
Skaven
Dark Elf
Undead
Chaos
High Elf

Just remember, the high elves and dark elves are enemeys in most BB worlds. So they will not trade with each other. Make sure that teams you say will be able to trade with each other don't HATE each other, but it would be better if they also were freindly (or as freindly as BB players get) to each other

you should look at the old ally rules (4th ed)
I honestly don't know them by heart for these teams, sorry on that.

Personally I wouldn't do it, but I have thought about it a lot because it does add a nice depth to the role playing part..

Just going on WFB fluff, not BB game balancing:

Skaven with Undead
Undead with Skaven and Chaos
Chaos with Undead and DE
DE with Chaos

HE with none of that scurvy lot. HE would be WE, humans and Dwarfs (at a push).

wouldnt skaven trade with everyone because they are sneaky gits?
As for undead ....... No one will trade with them cause they smell
The HE wont trade with that lot ;/
Which leaves the DE and Chaos to trade with eachother and the skaven ;)

Really, Skaven are 50/50 to trade with the Undead, depends on wheter they're fighting with them or against them at the time

Just don't allow trading. Allowing, for example, a Chaos team to get its hands on a Gutter Runner, is unbalancing as it compensates for weaknesses in their lineup. Similarly letting a Skaven team get its hand on a Chaos Warrior or Mummy reduces their difficulty winning a blocking war.

If you really want to have player trading then make random players become available (at a premium) (for normal pricing info look at http://home.earthlink.net/~agentrock/pdf/pcost.htm) and have random bids come in for the top players on a team

Maybe roll D6 after a game, on a 6 either someone bids for one of your players (randomly select from the top 3 on SPPs) or you get offered a player for sale (give them 2D3 - 1 skill rolls, priced at +20-30k per skill and varying amounts for stat increases).

Well, I happen to be the skaven. The only way Im letting my gutter runners go to them is if they come up with 320k, enough for 2 more rat ogres. Even that wouldn't get them my 1 score TDer. This isn't a rip off since all my living GR's have at least one spp. I dont think I would want a chaos warrior, and the Mummy guy would want a good GR for it, which I don't want him to have... It would make it that much harder to beat him. As for me getting there players, its a fat chance I'll get them cheap. Mostly it was there idea to want to trade, so I'll let them. It would have been easier before the Dwarf team left for collage, but now I'm letting another person in. I'm hoping he plays a team that's tradeable with HE. I like what darkson said, so I'm gonna use that to trade... right after the new player comes in. I'll tell you guys his team when he joins, In case he decides to be something like Norse or Orc. THnx   [/i]

If you wanted you could set your game before "the great Rift" b/w high and dark elves.
Or make High elves more like Melneboneans from the "Elrik" books and give them strong ties to chaos.

Maybe undead should only be allowed to BYE players. If the coach is payed well enough, the unlucky player is sacreficed to NUFFL and then the body is handed over...

There is some stuff about this on the pages where they talk about mixed teams (The Evil Gits). Trade only lineman and make an injury roll for the player after the match because he'll be beaten up in the locker room. Keeps it a bit more ballaced. Though I agree with Ian that trading should be left out as much as possibel.

OK...

The new team is........

NORSE

WHY DOES HE HAVE TO MAKE IT SO HARD!!!!! :pissed: :pissed: :pissed: :pissed: :pissed: :pissed: :pissed:

Oh well, im thinking he will trade with HE, but I don't know who else he would trade with. I'm thinking either DE, Chaos, or skaven, but I don't know. I'll study the Norse background and see wich would fit best. :?:

I'm saying Norse w/ HE cuz They don't neccisarily HATE each other, and He's my last hope for HE trading for at least a month.

OK, going with the current WFB fluff, the Norse would tade with Chaos, and DE at a push.

However, if you go with the old WFB fluff, that had Norse as Vikings rather than Chaos Jr., then they would trade with Chaos, DE at a push and.........HE [cheers + appluase  ]

Got there in the end. But remember, if your Norse player gets a HE ally, then don't allow a Chaos/DE ally at the same time.
