Post by Tojurub »

Dear NAF Members,

It is time to start the election for our next President

The time-table will be as follows:

- 7 Dec * – nominations start
- 16 Dec – nominations end and Q&A start
- 23 Dec – voting start
- 30 Dec– election ends and the new President is elected

There will be separate threads in the members section of the NAF forum for both Nominations, Q&A and the final election. Aside of this there will be a thread where all discussion on the nominees, the questions and the answers can take place.

For the record, the role of the NAF President from the latest NAF Charter:

President (Elected Position)

Directs NAF strategy and planning
Chairs meetings
Serves as liaison between members and officers
Serves as liaison between outside organization and NAF
Fulfills duties of other officers if absent from meetings or events
Reviews regular reports from other officers and offers direction
Sets meeting agenda items

Candidates:
- Driesfield
- Gaixo

*) Note: The nomination phase will start 2 days earlier than announced in the committee meeting minutes due to my availabilty over the weekend, but the other dates and deadlines will be met.

Exciting! Happy to answer any questions potential candidates might have, either publicly or privately.

Definitely not a potential candidate, but curious anyway:

What was it about the poisoned chalice that made you decide to not stand for re-election?

Over Christmas? Is it the best timing? Why not wait just a week or two and put it away from the holiday season?

The timing has good points and bad points. The newsletter is being written. And I'm not re-standing as part of a wider viewpoint that I am taking on my life to have some time away from being obliged to do things, and just doing things that I choose to do.

And I probably had similar thoughts last time. Most people have other things on their mind at Christmas.

When Dwarf coaches show up to a tournament, they're not the best. They’re people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.
