Gert Bowl 8 - ***Europen Practice?*** - 7th & 8th July

Post by Loki »

Bristol's premier two day Blood Bowl event is back for an 8th outing! Gert El Ocho

This will run on 7th & 8th July 2018 at BIG (Bristol Independent Gaming)

This will be part of the 2018 South-West Tournament Championship

If you are a new Blood Bowl player and want to get involved in the tournament scene everyone is welcome and we will try to accommodate any experience level at the tournament. If you want to ask me any questions but don't want them to be visible here just send me a PM.

As our brothers across the water have won the rights of hosting the 2018 Euro Bowl and EurOpen tournament we will be honouring their achievement by running this Gert Bowl as a 'mini EurOpen' i.e. we will be using the EurOpen rules pack: HERE (summary below) and the event will be a 3-person team event.

You are free to sign up as a team or an individual, we'll support individuals to make up 3 person teams for the day as we progress.

Location
Bristol Independent Gaming,
16 Clothier Road,
Bristol,
BS4 5PS

This is in the southeast of Bristol with good bus links to the centre.

Lunch
Food will not be included in the price but there is a McDonalds or Subway nearby or you could bring a picnic. BIG also have a range of snacks and refreshments available.

Registration
Please register your interest here

The cost will be £25 per person (i.e. £75 per team) to be paid to me via PayPal David.J.Muirhead@gmail.com. On PayPal please use Gift or Personal; and leave your name, contact number and if already registered your NAF name and/or number please include all team members details if paying for a team rather than individual.

Rules from EB
Teams must be made of exactly three coaches or three coaches and a non-playing captain or coach.

Each coach must play a different race. Only one coach per team may take Wood Elves for example.

Rules as per Competition Rules Pack with the NAF tournament changes in line with Blood Bowl 2016, Death Zone 1 & 2. Things may change throughout the year and we (both EB and BUBBA) reserve the right to update these rules inline with the NAF's decision.

All coaches start each game with the same roster and skills they registered before the tournament.

Each coach builds their team with a treasury consisting of 1,100,000 gold crowns.

No inducements are available to any teams with the following exceptions: Goblins may buy 0-3 bribes and Halflings may buy 0-1 master chef.

All skills will be chosen before the tournament and will stay the same for all matches throughout the tournament. See the tier chart below for information on how many and which type of skills your selected team can choose. Skill stacking or stat upgrades are not allowed for Europen

Tier 1 - Wood Elf, Undead, Lizardmen, Skaven, Dwarf, Chaos Dwarf, Orcs, Dark Elf, Norse, Amazon, Bretonnian
6 normal skills

Tier 2 - Chaos, Chaos Pact, Human, Khemri, Slann, Necromantic, High Elf, Elf, Nurgle, Vampire, Underworld, Khorne
7 normal skills & 1 double skill

Tier 3 - Halfling, Goblin, Ogre
6 normal skills & 2 double skills

Scoring
The event will give priority to team wins over individual wins
Should a Team win their tie they will get 2 point
Should a Team Draw their tie they will get 1 point
Should a Team Lose their tie they will get 0 point

In the event of an equal score:
The first tie breaker will be individual score based on the W/D/L of the individuals in the team
An individual win is worth 2 points
A draw is worth 1 point
A loss worth 0 points
The second tie breaker will be Head to Head for the respective Teams
The third tie breaker will be Strength of Schedule
The fourth tie breaker will be Team NET TD + NET CAS

AOB
No Illegal Procedure
This is a fun and hopefully relaxed event, please kindly remind your opponent to move their turn counter.

Any questions just ask.

Cheers,
Dave

Idea.

What about random teams. Once all people are confirm you can make the teams randomly, doesn't matter if are the same races in the same team. Just for fun and play with people in the same team that usually you don't play.

I generally like the idea but maybe one for another tournament/year... for those who are going to EurOpen they can use this as a dry run; especially if they are maybe that bit newer to Blood Bowl and haven't done a team tournament but want to join the party in Cardiff. I'm going to leave it as close as possible to the EurOpen rules and set up.
