Yep - exactly. You aren't playing one game as a pair, you're playing two individual games against another duo, and then your scores are combined.

Hi Owen - yep, received with thanks! We also have payment from someone that's probably haychdee for his duo? Excellent news!

That was indeed from me. Myself and my buddy (PunchyMcRageFists) are looking forward to our first BB tourney.Purplegoo wrote:We also have payment from someone that's probably haychdee for his duo? Excellent news!
Quick pitch question: I should be borrowing a regular 2016 pitch for the day but do people ever bring homemade pitches down? I was thinking of maybe making an easy to transport 3D pitch but I didn't know if that becomes a pain. Do most just stick to the cardboard and neoprene options?

Lovely, and good name! Will update that later.
We'd love to see a homemade pitch! I can't see it being a pain, but in the unlikely event any of your opponents find it tricky to play on, you can just sub in a normal pitch for that game. I'll bring a couple of spares, so we should be well stocked.
Not long left in September now, any further early birds, get stuck in!

I think that might be the best NAF name I have seen...haychdee wrote:That was indeed from me. Myself and my buddy (PunchyMcRageFists) are looking forward to our first BB tourney.Purplegoo wrote:We also have payment from someone that's probably haychdee for his duo? Excellent news!

Er.... stupid question, but what size pitches should we bring? Most local events have limited table space so use 3rd ed pitches, but being my first CamDub...(would prefer not to have to play sideways if I can avoid it).

I've not measured the tables in the venue. 3rd ed pitches fit nicely so you can play lengthways, but there may possibly be some overhang with BB2016 boards, I guess.
We will likely have more space and tables than coaches, so I'm sure that if a situation arises where a game is being played on a BB2016 pitch and you don't want to go sideways, we can put two tables together or work around it some other way. If this worries you, bring a 3rd ed pitch. I suspect 80 % of minis will be old size for a good while anyway.

3rd ed is good, it's what I have to use here, just thought I should check.

It's now October! That doesn't mean you can't signup, it just means you'll be donating £5 more to the prize pool. Actually, that's even more reason to join us, because you're a generous soul!

Looking forward to this already - Mr. Frodo and i are both bringing Underworld I believe (just randomly what's on our separate painting tables rather than some grand nefarious team scheme).
