One-turn Pitch-Clear

Post by Moraiwe »

Anybody can one-turn touchdown, but can you one-turn pitch-clear? I think so...

Go The Extra Mile (Heroic Feat)
Play at the start of any of your turns, before any of your players takes an Action.
Pick a player on your team. Until the end of your turn, that player can Go For It any number of times. Each attempt after the second (or third, if they have the Sprint skill) has a cumulative -1 modifier to the dice roll to see whether they fail.

Kingmaker Play (Benefits of Training)
Play at the start of any of your turns, before any of your players takes an Action.
Pick a player on your team and make an Action with them. Each time you make a dice roll for that player this turn, you can choose the result instead of rolling (make any Armour rolls and Injury rolls as normal). However, you suffer a turnover immediately after that player finishes their Action.

Now.... let's say you have a player with Ball & Chain on your team. Assuming you're lucky enough to draw these two cards, this is a one-turn pitch-clear, correct?

Or your noob opponent lines their entire team on the LOS. You proceed to block and KO/CAS all of them.
If the dice go your way anything is possible :)

I guess yes because a 6 is always a succes :-)

Or is that just pick-up, catch and pass?

I think with Moraiwe's suggestion you get an automatic knock down of every opponent player (assuming you don't block one of your own). You could then repeatedly hit their prone players until they go off.

It all depends on whether a roll of 6 is an automatic success on GFIs. If it is then you could be talking about an automatic pitch clear, without requiring luck.

As asked by stashman (just to keep this thread clean): viewtopic.php?f=24&t=44336 Feel free to wight in there.

In short, if "1 & 6" is in effect - evil. If it's not, then "unlucky, but I like your evil thinking". ;)

Sometimes, when you're in a league with superior opponents you need to think very evilly indeed. I'd almost be glad if it doesn't work. Almost.

Edit: Oh... and for the love of god, don't put rule questions up on Facebook... the responses you get there can be so depressing.

Or just the BB Community group (though the last few days on the Necromunda groups...).

[Edit - just read the thread on FB - yep, still glad I left the BBC group.]

Far funnier - pitch clear both teams and then just leave the fanatic roaming an empty pitch, unable to pick up the ball!

Just to check, you know what some people say about tff, right? Wouldn't it be better not to criticize?

B&C rolls dice to move, kingmaker works when rolling dice. Your opponents could be anywhere.

Hmmm... that is an interesting interaction. I'll have to ask the rest of the team about that.

Nothing says that a GFI is always a succed on a natural 6.

Only AG based things.
