Was there not a ruling, at one time, that stars were considered raceless in respect to the animosity still?

I think you guys have the wrong intention of this list in your minds...

I wasn't looking for their real position in a team but rather for options out of what miniatures you could convert one for your/my collection.
I'm absolutly aware that humans don't mutate, so Lewdgrip has to be a Marauder, of course. But the base model is a human model.

As for Crazy Igor, the description I seem to remember talked of him as a "patchwork thrall".
And what is more patchwork than a flesh golem?
And for Varag, I've only seen minis that have been huge, so I assumed him to be a black orc.

Since I created Crazy Igor ... I will safely say those description are very wrong. Crazy Igor was a Border Prince who lived on the board with the realms of Vampires. Unlike most Border Princes that grow up to fight the Vampires ... he grew up in love with them. This lead to a lifelong pursuit to become the perfect servant for them. This lead him to do insane amounts of strength training while in the realms of Chaos. The end result was that when Crazy Igor presented himself as a hireable star to his first Vampire team .. he had conditioned himself to be the perfect servant for those he exalted above all.
And what is more patchwork than a flesh golem?
Nothing ... but its wrong origin for this player
And for Varag, I've only seen minis that have been huge, so I assumed him to be a black orc.
He is made big but in all versions of BB he has always been a Blitzer.

Was Varag not pretty short in all of the previous versions of the fluff? I always assumed he was a strong (as in stocky, low centre of gravity) blitzer as well.

I think that was the easy way it was addressed at one point.

So, prior to the BBRC's expulsion, how were stars handled vis à vis animosity?

Wouldn't Barik have been based on a runner rather than blocker? He has all their stats and skills with some extra on top.

Animosity is a skill that I only recently saw in the LRBs when those mixed race teams popped up.
Or was there an animosity before? I haven't played the game from release on.

Regash,

That was put out by a person who was just trying to sell a miniature he made without asking anyone about the nature of the player. If you want to use that figure that is fine ... no worries. But that figure has absolutely nothing to do with the history of the player when he was introduced to the game. Again ... I have zero issue if you like that figure for the star ... but that card was made by the same company that made that miniature and when it came out it was pointed out then that the figure had nothing to do with the history of the star player as written.

This was discussed at length on TFF when someone asked about sculpting a Crazy Igor figure and his origin was talked about for quite some time to help him sculpt a Crazy Igor miniature. At this time this same figure you are discussing was posted to that discussion and the fact that it had no relationship to the actual origin of the star was brought up back then as well.

This was intentionally done to compensate Elves for being pretty much the only teams that did not get a big guy. Wood Elves always had 4 catcher positions and did not get a change because they had access to the Treeman (and were already considered better than the High/Dark Elves.)
