Okay.. I think I know the answer for this but I will ask anyway..

If you were to teach your partner to play which team would be best?

I have Humans
Chaos
Goblins
Undead
Necro
Khermi
Pro Elves/wood Elves

and what should be taught first.. I was thinking 7's style to get some of the rules sets in first

Out of those teams probably Humans

I will presume your "partner" is female...in which case I would say Amazon. However, you don't have those, so I'll say Humans. Elves or Undead second.

You could describe the teams to her and see which she wants to play

Failing that try to guess her natural play style and give her the one closest.

"Let's go play Blood Bowl!" and listen carefully.

Did she pronounce it "BLOOD Bowl" or "Blood BOWL"? Choose team accordingly.

Married more than 8 years.. I gave up guessing ages ago.. Maybe this isn't such a good idea!! The idea is that if I could get her interested we could travel AND play sOme blood bowl..

lol ... I'm currently learning my son to play, in spite of the missus vieuw on the game.

We play 9 a side humans vs humans, he has an ogre, I don't and we have several positionals each.
This way he gets to do a lot of things (block, pass, run etc) and there's still plenty of room on the pitch to allow for quite some manouvering.

He really likes it and has a tendency to kill off my blitzers, not nice of him but a lot of fun neverteless.

I find the most difficult bit for him is the language barrier (he simply doesn't know how to understand some of the skills / words even as I translate them), assists (I decided to go full monty on this, no holding back) and calculating how high he has to roll when to pick up a ball and stuff like that.

He sure knows how to hurt my team though, working out blocks goes quite natural on him, so are the AV and Inj rolls

Have you looked at 'Bash Bowl' ? Perfect way to introduce players to the game.

3 types of teams:
bashy,
agile,
average.

No assists and stuff, no deads, smaller field, less players.
Friends of mine have a lot of succes teaching their kid(s) with it.

If she likes that, later you ann introduce 'real' bloodbowl, all the way LRB 6 style 'cuttroat', according to GW .

I would start small, personally. Easier to oversee, less pieces, less turns. Less actions,too.

I gave her a description of the teams we had then let her look at the rule book and answered any questions she had about the teams she was interested in. She chose Necro because of the wolves I bought the team and taught her the game from there.

She now is pretty good.

We started off playing 7s, I described the teams I had and let her pick. She chose dwarves and now she's not that bad, needs reminding of skills every now again, but she grasped the tactics easily enough. Now she has a death roller and has beaten me a couple of times.

Sounds like a good plan. But if you cant her going with BB, then just stick with the travel part.
"Just going to Nottingham for the weekend, dear. Why dont you come with? See the sights, do some shopping, have a spa...."
But that is a little more expensive

Eski I would go with undead. A mix of bash, block, dodge, limited ball movement and brain deads not to care too much about.

I'm teaching my son BB too... Another 10 year old, likes the DS version, thought he was awesome and I said lets go TT in a classic Dwarf (his favourite) vs Wood Elf show down. He realised that TT is much more fun even though I took him to 3-0 on the first half. I cheered him up by saying I have been playing the game for a long time and he has a lot to learn.

I managed to get my wife to play BB years ago and she started with my pink Shadowforge bunnygirl team which we played as Amazons. More recently though, she switched to the Shadowforge female Dwarf team although she has since given up playing as she's doing some exams and needs to concentrate!

For the original poster, I would suggest Humans or Chaos from that list. Chaos are easy for beginners as they have limited numbers of skills and stats to remember - and everyone knows the skills/stats for Humans so, whoever they play, their opponent can remind them of how skills work easily.
