Had to register just to post in this thread I've been looking for a live BB league in Calgary for a few weeks. Last time I played live was probably 6 or so years ago against a gent named Toppy (who had to keep reminding me to move the turn marker at the start of my turn, haha). I've been playing a lot online recently though... and the itch to return to the table top version is back in full force I don't have any figures put together for a team, but I'll try to swing by on Sunday to see what the league is all about

Hey good to hear, we're the remnants of the league that Toppy was the commissioner for as was previously mentioned. I will probably not be down there this Sunday but I can let the others know to look out for you. If you get down there ask for Alec, Tom, or Dan. They can give you a rundown of how we operate and what you can look forward to. Tom may even have you on his old ABBBA contact list for all i know. If you would like to know more send a message to me on this board. We have been getting interest from a good number of new coaches and our second season looks to be better than the first one. Funny enough but the video game has certainly gotten alot of interest back into the table top version. Hopefully you can make it this Sunday and we can offer you a league that you would be interested in being a part of.

Good to see things are getting better (BB-wise) in Calgary, wish that would rub off up here, oh well.
Good luck with your league and new season. Hopefully you'll get enough people and interest that you might consider doing a touney in Cowtown again (those were always fun).

I want to see how you guys are doing back on the home turf!!! Surely it would make more sense to either install OLBBM and use that for free, or if you aren't technically minded you can do the same on stuntyleeg.com again for free olbbm is very good software as well for managing a league

Thx for the suggestions Grumble, will look into them. Our leagues still in a growth stage and the website issue is one we need to resolve still. Whether were large enough to justify a paid service or if were better off with going free. Dsav, were usually in the main gaming area. Were the ones playing BB not magic Bouf, pls phone me again at a more decent time. You dont seem to respond to posts or emails. And for the love of god dont leave another song on my voicemail. Instead you can leave a phone number so I can call ya back. Colin, last time I saw ya was at the Spike we hosted. We may have a 2 day tourney planned for November, its in the works but dont hold me to it. And its a good thing your not an Eskies fan lol, 0-4 and still counting.

Just pulling your leg Grum! I'm obviously a bg fan of the bloodbowlleague.com service. I can't honestly say I've ever seen a website run on OLBBM service. As Bert and I are very old friends... (sneaking up on 20 years here) I'd love to be able to see how his league is doing and have the same stats as a point of comparison. There is a cost, but it isn't hard to mitigate. Our league would over achieve with a $5.00 season fee. You could use the excess to buy prizes, etc... Most tournies cost 4-6 times that much! I'd hardly call it costly. But free is good too... I just like what I know. (and Bert know's that I'm always right!) Call you tonight Berty

OBBLM is great (it's what Thunderbowl uses). The only issue with it is you have to figure out hosting and whatnot yourself, and know a bit about SQL databases to manage it. That said, I managed to figure all of that out on my own and get www.ratcityrumble.com up and running by myself without any prior web dev or website hosting experience. Or SQL experience for that matter

Khail, no you don't
if you talk to funnyfingers at stuntyleeg, he has it set up to host leagues for you so you don't have to do any of that technical stuff
it is the official olbbm "showcase" if you will
the other advantage is that it will be kept up to date with the new releases without you having to do anything either
personally I prefer the own hosting method but then I know what I'm doing most the time in that regard
