BB GT 1st/2nd May, 2010

Post by Darkson »

I've been given the dates for the GT by Andy. I'd post them here, but then I might get served with a C&D letter for using one of their trademarks. :pissed:

I'm also meant to be reffing again this year, but I'm having 2nd thoughts about that now.

[Edit] Will ref.

Date are 1st/2nd May.

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

I actually hereby challenge the entire BB community to boycott this event.

Tell your friends, your leagues, and anyone you meet at your LGS - be it a GW shop or whatever - why you've decided not to go.

I was thinking about going, but have - in light of the last 24 hours - decided not to.

Is it time to think about reviving Lucifer's Roze Bowl idea and throwing down a challenge to the BBGT?

GW will get wind of it and post cease and decist orders on all local leagues and player run tournaments on the grounds of copyright infringement.

Not if there is a rival tournament over the road. Though they might be dumber than I think.

Whether people like it or not (and lot of people are angry including me) the GT serves a purpose. It brings in a lot of fresh blood. Ask lycos about how many sign ups he gets.

Feel dirty for arguing for that bunch of c.u.n.t.s

I 2nd that idea. Im not going to be attending the GT next year as i feel think they have f**ked us all in the ass after all we have done for them through the TBB community.

GW will get wind of it and post cease and decist orders on all local leagues and player run tournaments on the grounds of copyright infringement.
How can they stop us from having another tourni on the same weekend?

by refusing to make the NAF dice in the future?

I find this reaction a bit OTT tbh, they are merely defending their Trademarks as probably advised by a lawyer

I think anyone here would do the same if it was their business. I've not gone to the last 3 blood bowls for other reasons.

Using this as an excuse to boycott the blood bowl imo would hurt the community more than TBB having to remove blood bowl from the domain name...

Not that I think anyone here is jumping to conclusions or anything

If a boycott was performed.... it would make alot of sense to award double points for the Roze Bowl instead ;)

Besides, we could always give Lycos a special dispensation to go sit with the noobs without having rocks thrown at him. I guess we could even visit him or meet/greet people during the breaks.

I'll probably be doing whatever the rest of the WIL crowd do though. Can anyone lend me a decent shield to help fend off the cascade of rocks? :)
