well it was my first (in the 2 day format) & whilst i agree 55 quid is expensive I enjoyed it, would i go again (next year) Yes without a doubt (if they got Air con in the hall, or turned on even better)

Many thanks to all my opponents, I enjoyed every game regardless of the result.

Thank you to everyone involved, and congratulations to the various winners.

Hope to see you all at Thrudball...

Wouldn't know, wasn't there. Shane text me his results.

I agree with dwarfcoach, if the tourney can bring that number of signups, then it's definitely worth supporting. I'm now re-consideing my 'never turn up' ethic for the GT.

Plus it'd be a nice way of getting my NAF dice quickly, as I'm unable to renew on the site

And the results are in.......................... THE SPOON IS MINE!!!!!

and is was bloody hard work throwing my last 2 games, it went against everything i am

joking there, peeps. my team of choice had 3 secret weapons in and no bribes. and i was fouling a lot, so ran out of players very quickly. it becomes hard to score when you only have 5 or 6 players on the pitch.

the TDs i did score were one turn throw team mate jobs.

TOs! You do not need multiple copies of rosters. It's a waste of paper.

Can only hope that's not true. It would be a shame, and a slight on some players who were down there in contention for it on (lack of) merit or genuine bad luck

With the strong Euro vs the Pound, I was surprised there weren't more Italians/Spanish this year.

I can see next year definately selling out- what with the computer game release, so you might not be able to buy your ticket the weekend before next year...

This is probably the most sad and pathetic thing I have ever heard of.
You shouldn't be proud of deliberately coming last.
Tourneys should bar you.

Having met Mr. Lunchmoney, I can only believe his comment was in jest and not meant literally.

There are a couple of people who have BBGT reputations of doing silly things, like deliberately not scoring with their players, of making halflings block ogres, and that sort of thing.

Naturally, people aren't too fond of the idea. It's nice to see that the spoon was won due to lack of skill with a team, as opposed to players with the ball running backwards.

Ah the joy of the lack of context on internet forums.
Apology reciprocated.
I've heard about this sort of thing in the past (not just at the GT either). Even though I wasn't there it annoys me.

I know Mr Lunchmoney very well and he doesn't throw games, he is just a very sarcastic person :D

Anyway I would just like to thank everyone for a great weekend.

I couldn't be happier with my 26th Place finish and I achieved my goals of doing better than last year (100th and something with 2 Wins, 2 Draws 2 Loses) and not to lose a game (thought I did get very very luck to get a draw in my 5th game ).

Really? Doh! Of the 20 or so WIL'ers there (I'm including tenuous chaps like Don_Vito and Stick, I suppose, for the sake of results and all) I counted only three debutants who got swiftly ushered up to Dave.

If I'd known there were more online bods, I'dve gone on a beer fuelled recruitment drive. :D

I had a great (if expensive) weekend, thanks to everyone who I had fun playing and chatting to.

I may have overestimated ;]

I spent the weekend either drunk in a casino, drunk at a bbq or drunk at the beach

As Pgoo says, all WIL boys were in.

There was yet another (as we saw last year) big increase in the groups of 4-8 guys in a league who all came together for the first time. I played two such oppo's with the matching team shirts and, IMO, they all had a fantastic time.

Its true, its not the cheapest. There is no giveaway. But it was a great weekend.
