Secret Weapons table?

Post by Bob-the-Fish »

I was just looking through that worthless BB mag that had the gold rules in it and I saw the old weapons table. I thought that allowing teams to purchase a limited selection of weapons added some more options to a team and made them more interesting without unbalancing the game. It seems wrong to deny most teams access to any weapons at all while others, gobbos mostly, can take bunches of them. I'd love to put a chain ball-wielding maniac on my chaos dwarf team just because it seems so in character. And all that fluff about dwarfs and chaos dwarfs wiping out whole stadiums worth of fans doesn't hold up very well under the current restrictions. Wouldn't dwarfs use bombs? And skinks with poisoned daggers? Zombies with chainsaws? Halflings on pogosticks?
I would love to see this option brought back in some way. What do you think?

Mr. Fish, you'll be happy to know that Secret Weapon rules will come back in experimental form some time soon. I don't know the exact schedule, but I know they're coming.

Cheers!

Yippee, another permanent house rule receiving some limited backing again. Which mag #3 or #4?

Secret Weapons won't appear until at least #5. As for "permanent house rules," you've got it all wrong. The BBRC is set to begin releasing experimental rules periodically. The effort will focus primarily on older facets of the game that were temporarily yanked, like Secret Weapons and Magic Items. We need people to help test these items and provide feedback! Rest assured that rules of this sort are going back in the game on an official basis at some point.

Cheers!

sorry Chet, I meant permanent in my league. not in a general sense. I hope they make it back to official someday. But, if not, I will always have them locally.

Longshot - I'll bring this up to Andy Hall. I suggest you send e-mail to him:

I know you guys have had some issues regarding product availability. If you guys have access to the Annual and Blood Bowl Magazine, you'll be all set.

Cheers!
