English Coaches .......... vote for Team England Structure

Post by speedingbullet »

English coaches, you are invited to select one of the following options for how decisions are made relating to Team England.

Option A: Captain – A captain is elected and is the sole decision maker
Option B: Committee – A committee is elected (4 people + the Captain) and they are the decision makers
Option C: Unstructured – A window exists each year within which community members can table votes that add to / change the way Team England Operates, we are all the decision makers for every change

To vote, send a PM to TeamEnglandAdmin with your NAF Name and choice of either Option A, or Option B or Option C.

Please choose one option only and only one vote will be accepted from each English coach.

The vote will run until 6pm on Sunday August the 12th.

I will count the votes and sann0638 has kindly agreed to audit the count for us.

The relative merits of the options have been discussed on other threads, in particular the Structure thread. Please refer to the other threads before posting questions here.

The first job of the new decision maker(s) will be to draft a new Charter for acceptance or rejection by community vote. There will be no change to the way Team England operates until a new Charter is accepted. Changes will not impact on the team selection for EuroBowl/EurOpen 2018 in Cardiff.

If Option B is selected then committee members will be elected by the community in the weeks following the count on August the 12th. Details of how the committee works would be set out in the new Charter, for example 1 year terms or 2 year terms etc.

Please take the time to vote.

Note: To be eligible to vote on Team England matters you must be English and have played at least one NAF Tournament in the last 12 months

Thanks for setting this up.

One thought - is it worth asking voters to PM their NAF name / some other identifier along with their choice, so it is clear they are indeed an English voter?

Indeed. To have a say on TE matters, voters must be English and have played a NAF tournament in the previous 12 months (2017 vote). Including a NAF name will help track all that.

TOs! You do not need multiple copies of rosters. It's a waste of paper.

Anyone who has been on the team since it's inception has had the password, but generally the captain or designated helper controls the social media between EBs. I think Joe has been the most active over the past couple / three years, so perhaps he can give the accounts a bump when he sees this.

Perhaps a job for the new person/persons in charge would be to appoint a media person :)
