Interested, PM me your PayPal details please. I really need to improve my competitive BB game!

I've been AFK for 11 months so once I get home in a couple of weeks time I'll see what my situation is regarding GW teams.

Morning Barney.

We had a good day, some interesting games and tactical discussions. Somehow we needed more time though! Two games suggested for next time, or maybe we start earlier. One to think about.

MaceJedi (Christian) was our winner with two wins and a draw. Geggster was second also on 2/1/0 losing out on the tiebreaker (opponents' score).

Good stuff!

Yeah I'd defo drop to two games, when we had a me up we did a doubles game - and only got one in! I think it gives you more freedom during the game to talk about what how and why you are doing stuff.

Another way to do it is to have set fixtures before we start, so often there will be no need to wait until all matches are finished before you can start again. This speeds things up as has been demonstrated at Block Around the Clock.

Would still like to retain the aspect of competition (there's a trophy to be won after all) alongside the spirit of discussion and reflection. Two games may not really be enough to decide a winner.

I showed up a bit late which also didn't help... :D

We'll see.

Were games analysed and discussed? Did the vets give advice that was helpful to the others?

TOs! You do not need multiple copies of rosters. It's a waste of paper.

Yes I think so. Wulfyn may have an interesting perspective as he was observing and running the numbers throughout.

I recall a lot of my games were full of discussion in the first half, then quite rushed in the second (as time ran out!).

Final results better late than never FYI

1. MaceJedi 5pts (Wood Elf)
2. Geggster 5pts (Amazon)
3. Gorgoroth 4pts (Chaos)
4. Pipey 3pts (Lizardmen)
5. Nippylongskar 3pts (Dwarf)
6. Vagabond 3pts (Dark Elf)
7. KFoged 3pts (Wood Elf)
8. Anacron 3pts (Necromantic)
9. DanDavies 2pts (Elf Union)
10. Deeferdan 1pt (Elf Union)
11. WWE2105 0pts (Orc)

Scoring was 2/1/0 for W/D/L
First tiebreaker = sum of opponents scores
Second tiebreaker = net TD plus net Cas
KFoged played 2 games only
Deeferdan played 1 game only

Only just seen this...good question!

In my games this was deffo the case. Spent a long time analysing turns both during and after they were finished, asking questions... a lot of 'why did you do that?' Overall a much slower and more thoughtful approach...the rounds were 2.5 hours and I only finished 1 of my 3 games, but that was fine because the focus was on learning and development. Kfoged spent a good 10-15 mins in my game vs Vagabond showing him different approaches to Dark Elf OTS. Overall, felt like a very worthwhile day...hope other people thought so too :D
