Problem with PMs

Post by Snew »

I have PMs in my outbox that I wrote yesterday. Why haven't they been sent yet?

Has anyone else seen anything like this? It happens to me a lot.

I guess when the pm is still in your outbox that means that the recipient hasn't opened/read them yet. Untill the recipient has opened the pm you have still the chance to delete/edit your pm. Once the pm has been opened by the recipent it moves from your outbox into your sentbox.

I guess the two guys haven't logged in at TBB since you wrote the pms.

At least that is a quick explanation, as I don't experience problems with pms in these days.

If your PM is your outbox, it has been sent, but not opened yet.
If your PM is in your sentbox, it has been opened (and read hopefully... ).

Hmmm... what you say has merit. I get a notification in my email when I receive a PM so I just assumed it meant that I had one waiting in my inbox. It never occoured to me that it would still be in the senders outbox till I actually opened it. I thought that meant it was sent.

I hope that's the case.

Once I had a pm in my outbox for 4 weeks (!!), when I checked the user it became obvious that he hadn't posted for 4 weeks either. When the pm eventually vanished from my outbox I saw that he also had posted to one thread and I got the reply shortly afterwards.

Remember these arent emails, they arent moving servers, just getting new tags on them.

PM insults to JohnnyP directly - you'll certainly get a faster response...
