Star player points for casualties

Post by jawCross »

I'm wondering what are the ways to get Star Player Points (SPP) for making Casualty.
BB2020 rulebook says: "[] is Knocked Down as the result of a Block action []"
and "[] regardless of which player performed the action[]"

So the trivial ways: You block or get blocked.

A)
Chainsaw, Stab and Projectile Vomit
"Instead of Block action (on its own or as part of a Blitz action), this player may perform a 'Chainsaw Attack' Special action"
"Instead of Block action (on its own or as part of a Blitz action), this player may perform a 'Stab' Special action"
"Instead of Block action (on its own or as part of a Blitz action), this player may perform a 'Projectile Vomit' Special action"

My point is, these are starting "Instead of Block action". They are not starting "Instead of any other Action".

BB2016 explicitly said these are not giving SPP (Chainsaw and Stab). Is it so on BB2020?

B)
Ball and Chain
"the only action they may perform is a 'Ball and Chain Move' Special action" and when they hit to another player "they must perform a Block Action". So it was Block action (inside of Special action) and Ball and Chain gets SPP?

C)
Ball and Chain and Prone/Stunned player
When Ball and Chain hits on the Prone/Stunned player: Armour roll is made and it could cause Casualty. It is not Block. It is not foul. Does Ball and Chain now get SPP?

D)
Opponent blocks Chainsaw and Injuries themself
Opposition player makes Block action targeting Chainsaw and Knocks themself Down: Attacker gets +3 Armour roll.
Again BB2016 was explicit: "Casualties caused by a chainsaw player do not count for Star Player points".
Does Chainsaw now get SPP?

A) Chainsaw, Stab, Vomit Special Actions are not Block Actions - no SPPs.

B) Ball & Chain is called out as having to do a Block Action - SPPs.

C) No Block Action is being performed - no SPPs.

D) Player is injured as a result of a Block Action - SPPs.

(Note that the chainsaw guy can now perform a Block Action instead of Chainsaw Special Action, as per the FAQ.)
