NAF TREASURER ELECTION 2020

Dear NAF Members
With Gaixo re-elected as President it is time to look forward to the second election slated for this year, the very important role of Treasurer. In the NAF committee we have agreed on the following time line
8th March – nominations start
15th March – nominations end and Q&A start
22nd March – voting start
29th March – election ends and the new Treasurer is elected
Please take the next week and think thoroughly on who you will nominate for this highly important position. The treasurer needs to be a highly credible person of integrity, due to the high level of importance on the organizations finances.
On the NAF membership section of the NAF forum, there will be separate threads for both Nominations, Q&A and the final election.
From the NAF Charter the position is listed as the following:
Treasurer (Elected Position)
Collects any enacted club dues
Maintains club finances
Keeps records of finances (for public viewing if requested)
Protect the organisation against fraud and theft, ensuring safe custody of money, and prompt banking
Ensure that sufficient funds are available to meet all ongoing operational requirements
Keep up-to-date records as well as an audit trail for all transactions
Present the accounts of the organisation to the committee each January
Ensure safe/secure means of payment for our membership
Ensure that the organisation’s outgoings do not exceed our subscriptions
Make sure the committee understands its financial obligations, particularly appropriate and inappropriate expenditure/revenue
Be an active member of the NAF committee
Advises on NAF strategy and planning
