Playing 24... twice?

Post by Pakulkan »

Hi all,

Just for fun, a number of players already played 24 accepted races in a NAF tournament.

What do you think about playing them twice? just repeating the challenge, doubling the time to afford it.

Does it make sense or is just redundant?

As one who has done the 24....

Do you mean that each race has been played at at least two tournies? I believe Lycos has already done it.

TOs! You do not need multiple copies of rosters. It's a waste of paper.

A bigger challenge is to get all the rankings above 150.00.... ;)

Yeah, I'd consider the 24 over 150 more of a next-level achievement rather than just cycling through the 24 a second time. At some point it just represents a willingness to change teams over and over rather than playing teams you actually want to play...

I've two left for the 24 and my next 'meta-goal' is to try and get all (being realistic as many as I can, over 150)

To get them over 150 is difficult if you extensively play sunties...

I already played the 24 (ended up in 2013) and just wondering if I really "played" a race if just use it in a 4-rounds tourney...

On top of that, I was pretty lucky and only have 7 of them under 150:

Chaos Pact 149.24
Elves 145.83
Goblins 118.95
Halflings 136.56
Nurgle's Rotters 147.69
Ogres 120.26
Slann 134.64

I only played them once, so if I get a decent tournament, would be relatively easy (except for my 63-games played Goblins) to raise the 150...

What do you think? We could add both of those challenges? (Play at least 2 tornaments and get them over 150)? It would "force" you to play even the races for which you get a one-shot over 150...

This is where I am as well.
iirc (cant check naf site at work) half of mine are over 150.00. Not including stunites as I am never going to get those fixed!

I seem to recall someone has got them all over 150.00, but I might just be making stuff up in my head.

A couple of mine were done when I filled in at tournies I was reffing at. So I've not even got 4 on a couple (Halfings for example). But I am not really interested in playing them again, so if I did it would just be for the sake of putting a 2nd tourney to their name and I probably wouldnt enjoy the weekend as much as I could. And that is the reason we play this game - to enjoy ourselves.

I think Geggster and Jimjimany both hold that honour, I would love to hear what their meta-goals are :D

Thought it was Jimjimany. Maybe they just aim to win everything, Oh wait, they do that already as well....

They should retire and take on apprentices. Thier new goal could be to get thier student's ratings over 150.00

What about aiming to have played against all of the other 23 races with each race?

So a minimum of 552 games, even if you were lucky never to get any repeats.
No, I don't think so. ;)
Given that as of the last update there were only 12 coaches that had played that many I'd guess Lycos was the closest and he still has a lot of gaps.

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

That's called The Grid.
I believe some have done that on Fumbbl.

Even the most prolific coach with one race (Liam - Undead : http://member.thenaf.net/index.php?modu ... racematrix ) hasn't filled the grid even with that one race. So it seems very unlikely indeed.

Just a suggestion of something to aim for , I didn't mean you had to complete it in the next 6 months . It also probably more likely to do than get over 150 for every team for a lot of coaches

It is a goal and it will take many years to complete as it has a certain random element in your opponents.

I will aim for this goal :)
