Alternate block dice question..

If a tournament (or group of tournaments) were to produce and allow custom block dice they designed, and from a known/reputable supplier.. would it affect their ability to make their tournaments NAF sanctioned?

Curious as the NAF no longer produce block dice, and the stock of dice available are getting close to empty.

Only about half of the coaches I play against at NAF events actually use GW style block dice, so unless you have some crazy Tournament Director, I'm sure it'd be ok :)

Should be fine to produce - see Impact, Ausbowl, lots of Spanish block dice. What do you mean by stocks getting close to empty?

I haven't heard anything about the stocks of block dice being low.

NAF sanctioning contains no rules relating to dice. Some tournaments do ban non-GW/NAF block dice, but I'm not sure why. To me, it's not much different from banning non-GW models and only penalizes manufacturers who are servicing our market. (Even if some of those alt block dice are annoyingly hard to read.)

Given the thousands that are sitting in my storage, I can categorically say this is wildly inaccurate.

The only thing I would say is they need to be CLEAR, and they need to roll. I have played against people using fancy dice covered in erzatz elf script. I am old and blind, have some consideration. :D

Yep, I don't use the old blue Spanish block dice because the Pow and Pow! symbols look very similar, especially from the other side of the table (which is a shame as I like them).

Yep, Q workshop dice are rubbish.

I disagree - I have one of their steampunk sets and they're clear as day.
Some aren't though, I will agree.
