Nice work Elyoukey!

Any chance your link will work with "https" so we could use it on fumbbl also?
Sorry but this will not happen now. i should pay twice my provider to do this and the only feature would be the sig on the fumbbl forum not that big a return on investment :/

so unless someone can put my code on a HTTPS friendly server it will stay as is.

Would be fantastic if this could be made to work on FUMBBL as well.

WhatBall wrote:I'm (mostly) teasing. I do think it is a cool idea. What I think would be a better idea, is if you could add your NAF# in the forum settings and it generated a cool graphic over on the left with your name and avatar. It would be the same effect, but not breaking up the threads. Might be too much work though.

Please don't let me stop you, I like to poke fun. :)
I do appreciate that TFF and other forums have the signature limit.

On the odd occasion I go to places like Dakka it is really hard to follow threads. So many people just post a sentence which then gets lost in a massive signature filled with pics, stats and quotes.

This one is nice an neat, though I prefer the plain one.

Anyone who wants a static sig on FUMBBL can just upload the image to their gallery on the site and do it that way.

Does somebody know how to put the following NAF signature on FUMBBL?
Image
There it's not displayed.
Thanks in advance!

It needs to be on a https place and Elyoukey don't have access to that

If you've posted on the forum before you do not need to post again to test your signature. It updates on all previous posts automatically. 8)

Ok, I decided to spend a little time learning some of Google's App Engine specifics (as a contract developer, I have to learn and train myself :)), and what better to do than a little thing that NAF member could use? ;)

With thanks to Mepmuff for the information on how to pull data from NAF externally, I've created race-specific signature images. The code is as follows:

Code: Select all

That will display this:

Image

The values you must put in are:

n: This is your NAF ID.
r: This is the race you'd like the signature to display. The possible values are:

AMAZONS = "am"
CHAOS = "ch"
CHAOS DWARVES = "cd"
CHAOS PACT = "cp"
DARK ELVES = "de"
DWARVES = "dw"
ELVES = "pe"
GOBLINS = "go"
HALFLINGS = "ha"
HIGH ELVES = "he"
HUMANS = "hu"
KHEMRI = "kh"
KHORNE = "kd"
LIZARDMEN = "li"
NECROMANTIC = "ne"
NORSE = "no"
NURGLE = "nu"
OGRES = "og"
ORCS = "or"
SKAVEN = "sk"
SLANN = "sl"
UNDEAD = "ud"
UNDERWORLD = "uw"
VAMPIRES = "va"
WOOD ELVES = "we"

Yes, I know Khorne is in there. :D

Optional values:

w: Maximum width of the image.
h: Maximum height of the image.

Side information:
1] The country flag will show, as determined by what is on record at the NAF.
2] The only country flags that show up right now are US, Canada, and NAF. Sorry, I will get more in, but those were more important to me. Suck it. :P
3] The ranking will be whatever is on record at the NAF for that race.
4] If you have not played in *any* tournaments, your NAF name will not be displayed. This is because the pull of NAF data is empty if you have no tournaments played. Your number will show up as normal, though.

If there are any comments or requests, let me know. I'll see what I can do.
Kik

Very cool, but why the cyanid images ?
i think NAF is more about table top.

if you want i may unbury some miniature icones i made for the french website, they are a bit small but i could retrieve some bigger one.
ImageImageImageImageImage...

also you may want to use the new NAF logo with the spiked globe instead of the ball.

Also i am interested on the NAF API to retrieve informations, for now my scripts just curl the webpages which is not very neat. Maybe this could be set in a specific part of the website (NAF api and how tos for webdevelopers)

Elyoukey wrote:To prevent Darkson from going rampage and whatball to become sig-blind, this code may help:

Code: Select all

replace the XXXXs with your naf number
This will consume around 2 of the 4 signatures lines you are allowed to.

(note, i will probably slow down the ranking timing to prevent the forum to look like a christmas tree)
Bon boulot Elyoukey !
Et en plus, je n'ai même pas à adapter pour ma signature, vu que tu m'as pris comme exemple!

Merci :)

i think NAF is more about table top.
Two reasons:

1) I like them. They are fantastic pieces of art that represent our hobby.
2) The NAF likely should embrace (like every other organization in the world) technology. I can easily, using OBBLM, download my table top roster as a Cyanide roster file, install it on my system, and play a game with my table top team against someone connecting via direct IP. The winner can then upload the results (much like using BBManager) to OBBLM and it will automatically update the two rosters, so that when I go to play them in TT again, they have that digital game under their belt. Honestly, this is a HUGE draw for me in being able to use both mediums to play a TT game. And before you ask, yes I have done this (in two different leagues).
