Discuss Fantasy football-style board games - GW's Blood Bowl, Impact!'s Elfball, Privateer Press' Grind, Heresy's Deathball, etc. THIS IS NOT AN NFL FANTASY FOOTBALL SITE!
Some spaces in the Daventry Vaulters Persistent Blood Bowl League will shortly be opening up. Why not take this opportunity to see if you can take a team, work your way through the Divisions and win the coveted League Trophy.
Why?
The league provides a regular persistent league format where your injuries are carried over week to week. There are also the ever present "Round Events" and Cup games that will always encourage you to manage your team that little bit more.
When?
Season 8 is now drawing to a close. Season 9 will begin on 14th Jan 2013.
The league consists of 10 games over a 20 week period.
Your commitment would be to play one game in every 2 week window. All the while you will be competing in our side by side Knockout Cup with 1 game in every 4 week window (As well as the league for the league trophy).
You can play your games at any point in the window as long as you report your results via our website (www.level10.org) before the window closes.
Where?
The central point for the League is Daventry, where we have a venue that is available one night per week (Wednesdays). However there is no requirement to play there; you can play at yours or your opponent's home or anywhere else you can get together and set up a board.
Who?
Contact me if you require more information about joining the league. If you are looking for unbiased reviews of the positives and negatives of the league (I am sure there must be some) then speak to Gazza, Mattwhile or Talon Bay as they are both coaches who play in (but STILL haven't won) the league.
Having played Bloodbowl for over 15 years now, I can honestly say that the Daventry league is the best - in terms of spirit, sense of fun and competition, that I have ever played in.

I couldn't really find anywhere else appropriate to promote the fact that we were taking on new players. There is a thread that lists existing leagues but despite posting in there multiple times our league has never been listed.
I figured that whilst a league is not a "tournament" in the traditional sense it is still a competition that I thought some of the regular tournament players would be interested in.
I thought we had a League forum, seems we didn't, we do now.
Moved.
Reason:''
Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

You don't half know how to put a spin on things. Just remind me how many times you've won it?
Despite being in the league only a couple of seasons I also haven't won it a number of times equal to those quoted above
The Vaulters league is a nice mix of competion and friendly banter with some quirky players too (who may be less competitive but are certainly capable of surprises). A big plus is the web-based team management side, where you can see all the teams and match reports (check out the link in my sig).
If you want to get on the reserve list to pickup a "Drop-Out" team from a coach who has over committed his time then drop me a mail and I will contact you if one becomes available.
