Re: whats the average game time of Elf ball
It really depends on how many tests you are playing, if you are using the cards and your experience level.
I think the standard is playing to one goal, 120pt team (8 players) and with cards. Once you've played a couple of times it should be 45-75 minutes. I think that its even quicker for some of our veterans. It is designed to be much quicker than other game. Once you play it once, you'll see they are nothing alike.
We're happy to help with any questions you have.

The Two Minute Warning deck is a great way to keep the game to 75 minutes even when first learning it.
Tournament play is normally done with 75 minute rounds.

The cards are a must! Not only do they limit the time of the game, but this also adds a sense of urgency to play as the deck gets smaller. + the TMW deck from Impact! adds some tactical elements to the game with the occasional one turn bonus.
With a deck and 150 points most of my games last almost exactly an hour. I played a friend last week who has played very little and we took an hour and ten minutes.

For me, once you understand this...
Challenges: Actions on the pitch are controlled by a series of challenges. Anything done on the pitch besides basic movement is done through a challenge.
a. The number of dice you throw in a challenge is determined by the score of the attribute of the player (see specific table in rulebook).
b. There are really two types of challenges: (1) those that involve the ball (picking it up off the pitch, throwing it, catching it, intercepting it) and (2) those that involve an opponent's player (shoving, tackling, disengaging). Those that involve the ball use the SKILL attribute and have a static number of successes needed, while those involving the player are determined by the attributes of the specific player involved. MIGHT opposes MIGHT, TACKLE opposes DODGE.
...everything moves much faster. Just keep the one page reference handy. If you don't have the Two-minute warning deck, then you can just use a deck of cards and draw one each turn. The game ends when the deck is gone.

Agree with everything said previously. We have a tourney on Saturday and will comfortably get 4 games in between 10am and 5pm, with breaks and lunch included.
What's your location, btw?

* - If you do not have 2-Minute Warning decks. Use a standardapollo0360 wrote:ill check out the cards cheers
deck of cards with Jokers. Each face card (Jack through Ace)
give the player +1 Momentum for that turn. Each Joker gives
the player +3 Momentum for that turn. All other cards (2
through 10) are treated as ‘No Unusual Event Occurs’ cards
and give no benefit for the turn.
If you run out of cards before someone has scored the winning goal, then the player with the most No Unusual Event Occurs cards wins.
