Impact! is happy to announce that we are now stocking the rulers produced by the West Coast Quake.

Impact! is now offering great looking PVC rollable gaming mats from FF-Fields on a drop ship basis:

Those mats are really cool, but I sort of wish they were a bit more generic. I think it's the center graphics that are putting me off slightly. the muddy one, for instance, would work for a bunch of races if not for the Nurgle sigil in the center. I'll almost certainly pick a couple of these up in the near future, regardless.

Now we have no reason to buy the gw box. :) Though i have to agree with gaixo, the nurgle esq symbol is a little of putting for a nurgle hater like myself. But the inclusion of the scatter template and dugouts was a great idea.

I like the Felt mats.... I am just wondering what these new PVC mats are like.

PVC is a plastic, is it not, or do they give more of a cloth material type feel?

Will they have a tendency to kink or refuse to lay flat after being rolled up for long periods?

-----

And by the way they look fantastic even though I share some of the same thoughts as the others.

I'll see if I can get the creator to post to reply to your questions.

Hi guys

PVC is a plastic material used mostly for the big outdoor banner, is it more thick and resistant than the felt. Keeping the field rolled when not used is not a problem, at least for all the client that I know that are playing on a PVC field.

About the central logos, we have decided to try to create some themed fields and the step to use a rotten pitch for nurgle or a snow field for norse was short, we are currently working on some new theme like a khemry style field and a slann style field, but we are open to any suggestion

thx
Alex

Thanks for the reply, Alex.

As far as the PVC, I'm a bit more concerned with how "soft" it is as compared to felt. I love the felt mats because they reduce my need to constantly apply coats of varnish to my models. I would assume that these are more in line with the standard GW paper-and-cardboard play surfaces.

I look forward to seeing the slann mat.

an all star mat might be kind of cool. I am thinking all the logos smaller evenly spaced about the field. The minor league hockey team I go see sometimes has all the flags of everyone in the league hanging above the ice.

I am not in the market for new pitches right now though, and do not know how the idea would sell, but that is my two cents.

I am interested in these mats as well, but was wondering about the size of the individual spaces. Are they similar to the GW board or are the spaces large enough for 40mm (big guy) bases to fit within them?

These are great. But I would of liked to see the emblems in the middle of the fields a bit more subdued.
Blended back a bit into the field surface, Examples like 'Empire' and 'Wood' are extremely strong while the 'Frozen Tundra' came out pretty good.

Favorites are; Da Orks, Maya, Rotten Mud and The Empire (except for the emblem on the Empire - to strong and maybe something different)

My 2 cents.

I really like the norse field look.. but at $55 I'm a bit concerned how 'crinkly' or plasticy the field is compared to a felt.. does it crease ect.

Usually there's no way to get some crinkle on the field, PVC is an elastic material, the onlyway to cause damage is to fold it like a towel, a lot of players that I know are playing on the same fields since years.

If you keep your field rolled when at home, just don't roll it to tight.

BTW
thanks guys for all the suggestions, I will make treasure of it during my work
