Google Maps North American Tournament Scene Project

Post by Glamdryn »

Hi All,

I was bored at work today, so I created a map to show the North American Tournament Scene.

Its a public map, so I think you can add things to it.

I have added all of the upcoming tournaments found on the NAF site.

Good idea / Bad idea? What do you think?

Hmmm.... Interesting that the Avon Inn and Black and Blue show up as Stars in NY. Why? Because I grew up in the next town over from the Avon Inn. :)

It might be also fun to input players. I live near Salisbury, MD so it would be cool to put a pin there with tchatter. Maybe someone that plays BB also lives in the area?

I did something similar for the West Coast Grand Prix. I edited the info for the Iron Mike and changed the icon to an anvil for fun. If the anvil is tacky, please feel free to change it back.

EDIT: I see that the pin colors actually mean something so I changed it back to a blue pin.

It might get to crowded with players, tournaments, and leagues. As far as i can tell, there's no good way to filter. Maybe it would be best to break it into different maps rather than everything in one map.

a player map is a good idea, but probably should be kept on a separate map due to the over crowding that could be created.

This is a great idea. I would like to help with this AND do a map for individual people looking to play a Blood Bowl match (kind of like an open invitation)

Good work! This existed automatically for the NAF site automatically, but stopped working unfortunately.
